The Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser is purpose-built to lead Starfleet into the final frontier. Based on technical modifications made to the Galaxy-Class U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D by Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge and Operations Officer Commander Data, the Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser can venture into uncharted space alone or lead a squadron of Starfleet ships into action. Equipped with Saucer Separation, Antimatter Spread, Molecular Cohesion Nullifier Field, a Cruiser Command Array, and the Command Inspiration Ability Suite, the Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser represents Starfleet's commitment to discovery, communication, and mutual defense.
The Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser provides several improvements over the previous T6 Galaxy-class ship, including increased slots for Command seating. While the previous incarnation, the T6 Andromeda-class, includes only a single Lieutenant Commander Engineering/Command station, the Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser increases that with both a Commander Engineering/Command station and a Lieutenant Science/Command station. That provides a lot of flexibility in the use of both Command and Engineering abilities, which makes the Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser a very tough ship with a lot of capability to provide buffs and support for other ships joining it on the field of battle.
With its abundance of both Engineering seating and consoles, as well as its command capabilities, the Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser would make an excellent tank, drawing enemy fire and absorbing damage to allow other less hardy ships to survive alongside it.
This build uses easily-obtained equipment, including only standard gear and pieces which can be obtained through Fleet Holdings and/or mission rewards. See below for upgrade suggestions using more difficult-to-obtain gear.
Clearly, upgrading gear to Mark XV and Epic quality will provide the best results. However, see the Suggested Upgrades section below before heavily investing in gear you may be replacing before long.
In keeping with its status as an iconic Starfleet vessel, and to provide the greatest ability to attract fire from enemy ships, we have opted for a phaser beam-based build for the Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser.
Due to the mobility limitations of a large cruiser such as the Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser, we have opted to omit torpedoes from this built, though one can be added if desired (Tip: Use a Wide-Angle Torpedo Launcher if possible). In most battles, however, the recommended approach would be to use a broadside approach to opponents to bring to bear as a many beams as possible. Because of this, it may be difficult to frequently swing the nose of the ship around to fire torpedoes. In most cases, having an additional beam that can fire all of the time will prove more effective than a torpedo that can only be fired infrequently.
Using the Quantum Phase Beam Array with Console - Universal - Quantum Phase Converter enables the two-piece bonus from the Quantum Phase Catalysts set, increasing Accuracy and shield drain.
Using the Trilithium-Enhanced Omni-Directional Phaser Beam Array with Console - Engineering - Reinforced Armaments provides the two-piece bonus from the Trilithium-Laced Weaponry set which increases flight speed and weapon fire rates.
The Elite Fleet Intervention Protomatter Deflector Array provides additional Impulse Expertise, as well as bonuses to Weapon Specialization and Shield Penetration to make this build even more deadly.
The Kobali Hyper-Impulse Engines provide bonuses to flight speed and turn rate, in addition to a +60% Hull Regeneration bonus when used with the shield from the Kobali Regerative Circuits set.
This build uses the Kobali Regenerative Shield Array for excellent defense. Using this engine with the Kobali shield enables the Kobali Regenerative Circuitry two-piece set bonus which provides additional 60% increase to hull regeneration.
The tactical console slots are filled with four Energetic Protomatter Matrix Infuser [+Pha] which can be purchased from the Fleet Colony holding. These consoles provide a bonus to weapon damage, as well as healing hull and shields when activating special firing modes such as Beams: Fire at Will with energy weapons.
Note: You can also use Console - Tactical - Vulnerabilty Locator [+Pha] from the Fleet Spire holding for maximum DPS potential. Mixing the two types of consoles to maximize offense while providing a comfortable amount of defense is also an option.
The bridge officer seating of the Legendary Command Exploration Cruiser allows the use of a somewhat advanced type of build commonly known as Aux2Bat. This involves using two copies of the Engineering skill "Auxiliary Power to Emergency Battery" to reduce cooldowns and cause all bridge officer abilities to be usable more often.
Note that for this approach to be effective, you should slot three Technician Deck Officers into active space slots, of the best quality you can find. They should also have the ability "Bridge Officer power recharges reduced by x% after activating Auxiliary Power to the Emergency Battery." This will allow all of your Bridge Officer abilities to be used more frequently, which can dramatically increase DPS as well as provide increased defense through uptime on engineering and science abilities.
