Re: List of LGBT Foundry Missions

January 17 2013
I've been having a few ideas myself but no where near the dilithum limit for a foundry slot yet. Was drafting one on my phone on the way back from work today about an ambassador, her wife and their child. Story itself follows the classic line of parents committed to work, child becomes errant but gets kidnapped, learns hardship and the value of family before an ending of reconcilliation and/or tragedy. Had a few others but I wanted to see what was out their first, if it was needed so to speak. I think I'll start saving my dilithium!

Im surprised there are so few given the shear number of LGBT people playing this game (heads still spinning that there are so many over gay trek fans in general). I haven't had much chance to go through too many of them, still playing through the basic episodes to get caught up.

Would be a fun challenge to make a good mission that deals with the subject in a fun but effective way.... matter of fact getting a few ideas just typing this :)

The only Foundry mission I know of that puts a same-sex relationship at the center of the story is "The Wounded Wolf" by our very own Voleron (@akrilon in game).

I know of a few missions that include references. In "Life is But a Dream" by @wilv there is a man grieving over the photon-torpedo-tube coffin of his husband. And in my mission "The Spirits of Ramok Nor" a Ferengi criminal mentions that the male security chief of DS9 has a husband. But these are just references, they're not the central themes of the missions.

Sadly, aside from that, I don't know of any that feature LGBT themes or same-sex relationships prominently :(

Update: when placing an order, please also post a reply in this thread, so I can ensure that your email went through. With multiple screenshot attachments, I just want to ensure that all emails are in fact, being received.

I'm also open to feedback in terms or style, design and pricing :)

Thanks!
Dave.

List of LGBT Foundry Missions

January 16 2013
Hi, I was wondering if there was a list anywhere of all the Foundry Missions people know of that include some kind of LGBT theme in them? It's very hard to find such things by title alone in the search. Thanks.

Re: Member Participation and Numbers

For the record: I loved leveling in this game but once I reached 80 and got yellow gear across the board suddenly there was no real goal from there in sight. This is the game's flaw not the guild's. However wonderful the ideal of questing and solving jumping puzzles was to A-Net the sad truth is the gaming community as a whole needs challenges where it takes a lot more people to accomplish them. Maybe even to the extent where we have dependencies on other classes as well. I know this harks back to their arguments of what they wanted for this game....but if others (like us) are not playing then their argument and reasoning is flawed...this game maybe everything people asked for....and nothing close to what they really needed (which usually amounts to something very difficult and involving a lot of people to get.) See my point? So the problem for us is how to make something that is too easy and make it attractive for a number of people large enough to even call a community.

My best guess to help us is to go or focus on WvW. PvE is all but solo-able material except for dungeons. I hate (to a certain degree) WvW. HOWEVER, win or lose I always love the attempt when in the company of guild-mates who do their best and are mature. I would show up to lose everyday just to play with good people....FOR FUN! See my point here as well.

So to solve this thing about the game that is too easy. My advice is to move to the very hardest things about the game and direct all good people to it. WvW first and foremost...then when in PvE mode it would be Dungeons.

If we don't direct people now to the hardest aspects of this game and I mean now! Then all that is going to happen is they will run the gambit of the easier stuff....get bored and then run off and play another game which is more challenging and requires more people.

Will this be easy to do....hell no even I don't want to WvW...but I'm smart enough to know it's what I need / we need.... vs....what I would perfer or asked for.
