Ranks and how promotions work
Stonewall Fleet has six different ranks: Recruit, Cadet, Member, Fleet Captain, Admiral, Fleet Admiral. Although you will gain different ranks within Star Trek Online ranging from Lieutenant all the way to Vice Admiral, within Stonewall Fleet you will progress through the ranks below. Within Star Trek Online, you can see your fleet rank by selecting "Fleet" from the down arrow next to your minimap.

Recruit
A recruit is someone who has been invited into a Stonewall related fleet but is not yet fully registered on the website.  Also, the person may already be registered on the website but is missing a key component of his or her registration, such as a Cryptic @ handle, or similar piece of important information.  Either way, a person cannot be fully identified under the aforementioned circumstances, therefore it is important that this information be completed as soon as possible.  Anyone that joins any in-game Stonewall related fleet must create an account/profile within the website and complete their full registration information within 7 days from the date that they were invited to an in-game fleet otherwise if they do NOT register on the website, recruits will be removed from the in-game fleet.  A fleet captain or admiral can assist recruits with this process.  Please note that Recruits have extremely limited access to any fleet banks within the game.

Cadet
A cadet is someone who has been invited into Stonewall Fleet and has a complete their registration on the website.  To progress to "member" status, a cadet must create an introduction post within the "Start Here!!" forum section to introduce themselves to the community.  If a cadet does not do this, he/she will remain a cadet indefinitely.  Cadets are promoted to the status of "member" after 14 days from the date that the cadet created an introduction post.  Cadets have limited access to the fleet banks within the game.

Member
A member is someone who has successfully posted an introductory thread in the Start Here section and waited the required 14 days. If you are not a member and do not understand why, please reach out to a fleet captain or admiral. Most users are at this rank. Members have much less restricted access to the fleet bank in game.

Fleet Captain
A fleet captain is someone who has been a member in Stonewall Fleet for enough time to be able to help users and the community with things that are not well known. They have volunteered some of their time to help the fleet in whatever way they can. They can assist with answering questions, inviting people into any of the STO guilds, moderating parts of our community, and with fleet sponsored events.  They serve as the first line of escalation or help for the community.  Please feel free to reach out to a fleet captain when needed and ask for help.  Fleet captains handle most in-game member grievances or concerns.

Admiral
An Admiral is a Officer of Stonewall. In addition to performing all the duties of a fleet captain, Admirals handle more complicated issues including interpreting fleet bylaws, approving fleet events, representing the Stonewall brand, and managing member grievances or concerns.  Admirals may handle grievances or concerns escalated from any member or fleet captain.

Fleet Admiral
The fleet admiral is the leader of Stonewall Fleet or Community Manager.  Although responsible for the general oversight of the fleet and SGN, the fleet admiral also handles the most difficult or complex concerns of member issues.  The fleet admiral may handle grievances/concerns escalated from members, fleet captains, or admirals and will issue a final decision based on the evidence provided.

Should you have any questions, let me know.

Roster Checks for Character Inactivity
Please be aware that characters (toons) are removed from our in-game rosters within Star Trek Online if they remain inactive 90 days or longer from the date that the in-game rosters are checked.

[]  Inactivity is based on the last date that a player logged into/used his or her character.  Cryptic provides a player's last login date within its in-game rosters.

[]  Roster checks are conducted on a semi-monthly basis or as needed before the end of each month.

[]  This policy was effectuated years ago because Cryptic has a 500 character capacity on each fleet.  In order to stay below capacity, our rosters must be reviewed for inactive characters so that we have enough space for all of our current or any new active characters.

If your character was removed due to inactivity, no problem! It is very easy to re-invite your character into one of our in-game fleets, simply make a request within the in-game chat box to be re-invited into which ever fleet your character belonged to and one of our leaders shall assist you.

Should you have any questions or concerns, let me know : )

What's all that white in the background? Is that what caucasia is, that white coating on stuff on the Islands?

I absolutely loved it! My new obsession at the moment!

It felt like an old Spielberg movie when it was all about great storytelling, and less about, you know, pretty stuff.

I want more!

This month's Mindtools topic for a successful life is:  How Good Are Your Management Skills?

"In business, we often seem to focus less on good management, and more on the glamorous and exciting work of leadership.

However, managers are responsible for making sure that things are done properly. And while leaders may bring us vision, inspiration and challenge, these things count for nothing without the efficient implementation brought about by good management.

To be a great manager, you must have an extensive set of skills – from planning and delegation to communication and motivation. Because the skill set is so wide, it's tempting to build skills in the areas of management that you're already comfortable with. But, for your long-term success, it's wise to analyze your skills in all areas of management – and then to challenge yourself to improve in all of these areas.

This quiz helps you to quickly identify your areas of strength and weakness, so that you can capitalize on the former and manage the latter. We then direct you to resources that you can use to develop your skills further." -Mindtools

Halloween Fright Night Event!

October 16 2016

...................

EVENT ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29: For the last few months, I've locked myself in a cellar, conjuring up just the right spell to resurrect Stonewall's annual "Halloween #FrightNight" For the FOURTH consecutive year!  Fright Night is the annual gathering of Stonewall armada members and friends (living or dead), for a series of spooky, Star Trek themed events, in honour of All Hallows' Eve: the galaxy's most horrifying holiday!  Among the events that we're hosting are: the Star Trek Trivia Experience, Trek themed Bingo, a Halloween Costume Contest, and Stonewall's EPIC, original event: "Trellium Catastrophe", among others!  Naturally, we're giving away Stonewall Credits as event prizes, which can be redeemed at the Stonewall Credits Store for amazing in-game ships and swag!  We're also giving away some Zen and other unique items for the winners of the Trellium Catastrophe event!  See the event schedule below for details on each event!  See you all there... if you dare!

...............

·············································
Opening Ceremonies: Gathering of the Ghouls
[2:00 PM - 2:15 PM EDT or click here for your timezone]

We'll start our ghoulish gathering at Stonewall Fleet's newly acquired K-13 Station, since to hold a Halloween event, there would be no better location.  Here, in the eerie and dilapidated halls of Starfleet's long forgotten past, we'll kick off the day's events with a quick speech, once we've all there amassed.  Come alone or bring some friends and we'll flood the PvE queues before the night descends, as we prepare for a full day of spooky, Halloween-themed events!

·············································
Group PvE Mission Runs
[2:15 PM - 3:15 PM EDT or click here for your timezone]

We're going to set the mood for the day by digging up some of the spookiest PvE missions that we can find in the long forgotten depths of the queues!  Together, we'll dust-off and brave these scary missions with our fellow fleet and armada members!  Don't worry if we choose some missions that you haven't run in a while, as we'll have highly skilled volunteers on-hand to lead each five Captain team to certain victory!*

*Our legal department has advised us to clarify that the phrase "certain victory" is not intended to imply any actual chance of success.

·············································
Fright Night Bingo Event
[3:30 PM - 5:00 PM EDT or click here for your timezone]

Once we've finished destroying the PvE queues, we'll be running TWO back-to-back Star Trek themed bingo games!  Round one will be Star Trek villain themed while the second round will be Holodeck Adventures and Alternate Persona themed, to leave you with a good, Halloween Fright Night scare!  Those of you who have played in our bingo events before, know how it works: everyone will be given a link to their own, unique, web-based bingo card that can be accessed through your browser or tablet.  We'll call out clues to the characters on your bingo card, and you'll mark off the icons on your card that match the clues that are called!  The first to achieve different bingo combinations will win prizes!

·············································
Horrifying Halloween Costume Contest
[5:30 PM - 6:30 PM EDT or click here for your timezone]

The Horrifying Costume Contest is one of our favourite events from all of the previous years.  We've scheduled a break in-between events to give you time to hit the tailor and create some stunning entries for this contest!  As always, our costume contest will have FIVE different categories and your Captain can enter as many or as few of the categories as you like!  A winner for each category will be chosen by a panel of judges; that means FIVE chances to win best costume in any of our fun award categories!  See the second post in this thread for our costume contest categories and prizes.  We saw some amazing entries last year, and we're excited to see the creativity of our fleet members again, this Halloween!  Remember: the best entries are usually those who create a costume ahead of time, so think about your costume ideas in advance!

·············································
Zombie versus Zombie Hunter PvP
[6:30 PM - 7:15 PM EDT or click here for your timezone]

After our costume contest concludes, we'll take to a ground PvP map for two matches of Zombie versus Zombie Hunter PvP, which will pit one or two fully equipped 'Zombie Hunters' against the remaining horde of Zombies who will attempt to destroy them by hand, biting off one chunk of flesh at a time! Join us for this amazing fun and make sure that your Captain is appropriately zombified for this event!

·············································
Terrifying Trek Trivia Event
[8:00 PM - 10:00 PM EDT or click here for your timezone]

Something is wrong... VERY wrong.  Something has happened to the Emergency Gameshow Host Hologram (Mark II), and those of you who have joined us for Stonewall's infamous Trek Trivia experience in the past, will find that there are some horrifying changes in store for them.  The whole thing is really quite classified and I'm not even authorized to tell you what I already have... just come prepared.  As always, you'll want to be sure to join us for this AMAZING event, even if trivia isn't your forté; it's about the experience of this epic event and slower typers will find that there are some new changes to the game that might help them dispatch our typically high scoring players!  This audio event is held both in-game and on TeamSpeak, but you're not required to speak in order to participate.  See our TeamSpeak Setup Guide in the documentation portion of the site to ensure that you're ready to participate on event day!  You won't want to miss this amazing fun!

·············································
Trellium Catastrophe Team Challenge
[10:00 PM - Onwards EDT or click here for your timezone]

Trellium Catastrophe (newly re-designed this year) is our flagship event and the last event of our Halloween Fright Night!  In this event, we'll get you to pair up with a friend (or we'll help you find a teammate), and we'll take you on a guided, ground-based, haunted-house style foundry mission.  You and your partner will be given a handful of objectives to complete and the teams that complete this creepy mission the fastest, will win amazing prizes!  Each member of the fastest team will win 2,500 ZEN in addition to Stonewall Credits!  The average speed of completion for the mission is a short, 17 minutes of terrifying fun!  It's highly recommended (though not required), that you and your partner join us on TeamSpeak for the duration of the run for background music and sound effects that make this an immersive experience!  Check out the trailer for this event, below!
