funny my guy is turning into a nerd, but not a gamer at all. In fact he bought a TNG uniform this weekend at dragon*con. Course he had to go captain, asked if he could add extra pips too.

Marina Sirtis would be the reason I went on the trip. She was great this past weekend. Even when Denise Crosby stormed off stage.

The lack of jumping is one of the first things I'd noticed. It really is annoying when the open areas outside are full of one foot hills that you have to walk round to get down or up them.

To be honest, my interest in this title has been murdered. There's nothing but stress to find here.

Re: FF XIV anyone?

September 07 2010
I never really played FFXI ... I gave XIV a try the other night because my better half is in love with the game but I have a few grievances.

1) I can't jump!?!?!?! You mean to tell me that this two foot ledge is so detrimental to my health that I can't jump down/up and instead I need to spend thirty seconds running around it?
2) Why are you making me run five minutes to one spot, only to spend two minutes to do a single quest and then turn and run five minutes back to that spot? Ugh?
3) Maybe this is just me but does the mouse control in this game really operate that poorly? :( Makes me wonder if its being designed for a controller with the mouse as a second thought since usually a mouse is much quicker/more accurate. Boo.

I will give the game the point that it is gorgeous. Too bad I've spent more time in cut scenes or running from point a to point b than playing. I'm not anticipating adding this to my gaming rotation. :/ I can't figure out if all these simple things (i.e., jumping) I've just taken for granted in other games or if this is actually part of the allure of games like this. It's almost an antithesis of WoW and I'm beginning to think that's part of the appeal.

ok, aside from everything else, the trouble I have is the same trouble I had with FFXI. You can spend literally 15-20 minutes going from one npc on one side of town to another npc on the other. Towns are pretty but a huge time sink. It's why I stopped playing FFXI. Am I missing something? Or is "part of the fun" of FF games just walking around enjoying the scenery?

PRESS RELEASE: The Stonewall Fleet Store

September 07 2010
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Stonewall Fleet Store now Open for Business

Alpha Quadrant, Milky Way Galaxy - September 7, 2010 - The Crafting Corp of Stonewall Fleet is proud to announce the opening of the Stonewall Fleet Store.

This state-of-the-art online marketplace was created and developed in conjunction with StonewallFleet Inc. (NYSE: SWF) and Memory Alpha Enterprises (NASDAQ: MASTO). “It brings fleet members the opportunity to order items to be crafted directly from the Stonewall Fleet website (http://www.stonewallfleet.com/store),” says Nick@ NicholasJohn16, Stonewall Fleet’s founder.

After an order is placed, the client will be contacted by a representative of the Crafting Corp with instructions on how to receive the item. “At the present time, the Corp has every data sample in stock, with a supply that should last several months,” the Crafting Corp leader, Brandon@ bfelczer, tells us. Therefore, only the base item (available from vendors at Memory Alpha) will need to be provided from the client.

Another great feature of the store is the "search" option, where you can find the item with the powers or stats you want. Most of the items will show stats, but, there are some that are based on your specific character and ship - these include ship shields and engines.

While there are no surcharges for an item to be crafted, the Corp does have a suggested donation amount based on the rank of the item. Current amounts are as follows:

Lieutenant: 5K EC
Lt. Commander: 10K EC
Commander: 15K EC
Captain: 20K EC
Rear Admiral: 25K EC
Vice Admiral: 30K EC

All donations will go towards the eventual purchase of a Stonewall Fleet Starbase.

Just after he defeated Khan Jim was captured and put into cryogenic freeze but a clone of him was created. the real jim was found by a Federation search party in the year 2402 on the planet Ceti Alpha 3 where he had some major catching up to do with technology. but when he discoverd that the federation and the Klingons were at war he was overjoyed and said that he would hunt down every Klingon until they were begging for mercy.
