Congrats guys! Now to get the military to march in Pride, that's my fave part of UK Pride marches.

This is a historical day for the glbt community. For the first time in American History, gay and lesbians will be able to serve openly. When people talk about DADT, they only refer to the 14,000 soldiers kicked out under the policy. Many don't realize that the first person kicked out of our military for being gay happened 232 years ago and the last 14,000 is only a small percent of the total.

Hallelujah! Another large crack in the block of discrimination against LGBT people in the United States! This is GREAT news and I'm so excited for my friends in the military.

Now we just need to get rid of DOMA. :cheer:

The US Senate is currently voting on repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell and they've already passed the majority point for passing it. The House passed this stand alone bill earlier this week. It then has to be signed by the President. Although, there are some other loops to go through, but it looks like DADT is dead.

I hear ya. My friend likes the look of it too but is not too jazzed about the prospect of forced grouping in order to advance in levels. He says starting at level 18 or so the last mission in a story arc can't be completed solo. Even though the mission might have a AI-hero that fights alongside the player, the hero ususally proves to be less than useless as they seem to get defeated very quickly.

My friend said that when he first started playing he was definitely going to pick up the game. Now he's not so sure.

I've tried (suddenly remembers non-disclosure agreement) I mean my friend has tried the beta on both the PC and PS3, and he prefers the control scheme on the PC, although it's been clunkified to make it compatible with a PS3 controller. The one thing he hasn't found is a "run" key, so traveling across town means holding down at least one button/key to move forward.

The game is somewhat engaging (he says), and the locations are very nicely done. But he wants to give it a rest so he can go back to the old familiar STO universe for a while.

He is still enjoying ogling all the buff guys in tights. :silly:

It was finally starting to get good, I mean really good!

This is first major sci-fi series to include a major character that's openly gay. They should be awarded for that alone.

This makes me so sad. What's even worse, is we'll never know how the story was really suppose to go.

One of the author's should write a book.

This was quickly becoming my favourite science fiction series. They finally got on to the bridge and started to explain the whole purpose of the Destiny's mission... AND NOW THEY CANCEL IT????
