Try right clicking it and selecting Save As or Save Target, depending on what browser you're using, and save the file directly on your hard drive and open it from there instead of trying to load it in the browser.

I hope they change the Cryptic logo back to the image of the factory. I always liked that one. I hate the new logo that's just "CRYPTIC".

It's not downloading right, all I get is a black screen in the tab. Should I reinstall Acrobat Reader?

Re: [Gay Content Foundry Mission] The Wounded Wolf

When I can get back in game, and once I learn Foundry, I have a mission I'm planning to develop that definitely focuses on gay characters. I call the mission "Sword of the Stubborn", and there will be both Fed and KDF versions. I have it basically plotted out.

Whether you discover the gay reference in "Spirits of Ramok Nor" depends on what branch of dialogue you take with Boson.

I must have missed this on my first playthrough. I'll have to reply later to watch for it.

@Alimac: I had played your mission a few weeks back and really enjoyed it! I didn't realize that it was published by a Fleetie, though! Loved the closet scene with the subtle head nod to the community :) The guys over at STOked plugged your mission too, didn't they? I think that's how I found out about it. Good work on it!

Yes - they did plug it on the STOked podcast, and Jeremy was very complimentary about it! So I'm very grateful to them for that!

Thanks to you, too, for your positive comments. Feedback from Fleeties always means a lot :)

I'm currently working on my next mission... there's a map I'm building that has fences arranged in a circle... the Y co-ordinate changes with the slope of the ground and OH MY GODS it's driving me to drink. But I'll get there. I love the Foundry really ;)

Looking forward to playing 'The Wounded Wolf' later

@CaptDry: lol thanks - I had to look the word up when that guy submitted the review, and was kind o surprised when I found out what it meant, hehe. To each his own, though!

I know what you mean about the Foundry limitations cramping style and imagination. I had to remove a few really cool elements from the mission due to spawn problems etc. Every idea that was outside of the linear "kill this and scan that" routine was a nightmare to implement.

It's too bad: I think there'd be a lot more great missions out there if the Foundry was a little more user friendly.

Glad you liked the mission: thanks for the comments :)

Thanks everyone for the support! I'm excited to see how the mission ends up being rated, and to see if people enjoy it.

I just played it, was really good. I enjoyed the story. My boffs got stuck a couple of times in the compound but thats a foundry glitch nothing to do with you. I too got sick of working my ideas around the foundry limitations. Gave ya 5 stars coz you're worth it :-)

PS whoever that guy was who babbled on about Lucasian v Trek in your review is clearly off his rocker. It reminded me of TOS.

Both came down for standard maintenance. There won't be any changes for some time, as it looks the deal is still being finalised and such, even after that, the good old Atari logo will hang around for some time.

Cryptic's logo is still attached to CoH and its been a good few years since they left them.

I suspect that I might face an uphill battle with my mission ratings, because of the gay content

There's a gay reference in my mission, 'The Spirits of Ramok Nor', where you encounter a Ferengi and he mentions that one of the male characters on DS9 has a husband. I've had over 2000 ratings so far and have read every single one of them - only two people have said anything negative about the husband reference, and around six have said that they liked it or actually thanked me for including it. The vast majority haven't mentioned it at all - and I'm optimistically taking those "no mentions" as tacit approvals ;o)

So I take those figures as pretty hopeful, though it is only a very brief mention in my mission... it'll be interesting to see how a mission that has the gay character more centre stage is received.

I hope and prey that you won't receive negative feedback - not least because this is not just any MMO, it's a Star Trek MMO, which ought to embody Gene Roddenberry's vision for an enlightened humanity: no discrimination based on outward appearance, respecting and seeking out infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

I am ashamed and deeply disappointed by any person who calls themselves a Star Trek fan and then makes a discriminatory comment based on sexuality.

Can't wait to play through your mission. I'll give it go when I get home tonight :o)

Mildly off topic but .. Servers and forums are down right now which seems unusual as I dont recall them doing it before. Anybody think today is the day the rebranding takes effect and the forums get 'purged'?
