In all seriousness, the mention that this "miracle" could be alien in origin is played off as the "ridiculous." Are the Americans completely oblivious to the fact that there's been a space-borne, world-changing, threat in England nearly every Christmas since the early aughts?

Captain Jack seemed to have lost his swagger along with his immortality. I'm really hoping that it isn't permanent if only because right now it's the ONLY thing that maintains the Dr. Who, and more specifically, the Rose Tyler, legacy of Jack's origin story. Not to mention the whole "Face of Bo" potentiality. Hell, they almost seem to be toying with this very idea because they have specifically talked about how (like Jack) aging hadn't stopped. Though unlike Jack though there's no evidence that they can heal or regenerate.

I can understand a new sense of caution for Jack, being mortal for the first time in over a century, but the complete neutering of Jack seems out of place. The old Jack would have been hitting on the Steward while ordering that drink just to challenge the "I'm not gay!" statement.

Almost an entire episode on a plane also seemed like a bit much. I can understand it if we had 22 episodes to tell the story, but we're only talking 10 50-minute episodes and spending an entire one on a plane with almost zero plot development seemed a waste. That's not to say it didn't have its moments.

Russel T. Davies has created some fantastic revelations in the past (e.g. Bad Wolf) so I'm holding out hope that there's something really impressive waiting for us over the next couple of weeks.

Again, in Miracle Day, I'm enjoying the characters. They have some of my favorite actors working in it, and I think they're all doing a fantastic job. Lauren Ambrose (Jilly, the publicist) cracks me up with her evil-Columbo routine, pretending to be scattered, but with just a hint that she's really light years ahead of those around her. Sierra from Dollhouse was chilling as the agent/assassin. I'm not a huge fan of Bill Pullman, but I'm intrigued to see where his story is going.

Rex and his assistant are just okay. Rex's injury seems to be plot-sensitive, bothering him just enough (and only when required) to serve the plot.

Some of the details of the show bug me. The big TV interview with Oswald just felt ... wrong. Like it was written by someone who has never actually seen a TV interview before. I know the show is fiction, but it could be more engaging if they got more of the details right.

The same goes for the CIA stuff. The U.S. government now has common access cards (CAC), that require not only the card, but a PIN number to grant access to a secure building or room. The CIA is going to have AT LEAST that amount of security. How much cooler the stolen ID scene would have been if she grabbed her friend's card, and found the PIN written on a sticky note on the back. When you're dealing with a fantastical situation like nobody dying, it works better if you get the rest of the details as close to real-life as possible.

I imagine the medical stuff is like that, too, but I'm not as knowledgeable in that field. Although it did bug me that they didn't seem to be measuring any of the chelation ingredients. Oh, and that whole scene was pretty much ripped off from Apollo 13.

Though why the agent with the broken neck didn't bother turning her head around to face front is beyond me. Except for the obvious creep factor... Probably could have accomplished the same thing having her head laid down sideways on her shoulder or having one hand holding it upright by her hair.
