I love most of her although I think she's a little overweight around the middle.

I'm really quite impressed with CapnLogan's skills! The first time I saw the ship concept, I felt a little queasy. But he's pulled it off, and I can't wait to fly this baby in game.

Overall, I am enjoying the show, and have happily signed up for Starz to give them the credit they are due for giving Torchwood another breath at life. That said, it hasn't yet really felt like "Torchwood." Maybe I'm nuts for thinking this, but a stronger nod to the Dr. Who universe would have been nice (a la the inclusion of Dr. Martha Jones and Mickey as seemed like an implied possible direction at the end of David Tennant's turn as the Doctor).

So pre-ordering gets you a colour stone to change your lightsaber. Not bad really.

I'm not a fan of getting loads of stuff for pre-ordering the normal or special editions. As proven by STO, you'll get it eventually anyway.

My boss's boss has a bunch of Torchwood tchotchkes on his desk, still in the boxes. I can't tell what they are, but they say "Torchwood Miracle Day" on the boxes.

Waaaaaant! I'd bug him about them, but he's not here. >.

I enjoy the characters, but I'm in the minority who didn't really like Children of the Earth. The big events of that series just felt forced and flat, like they only happened because the writer wanted to torture Jack, not in service to the story.

VAGUE SPOILERS AHEAD FOR EP 1 & 2. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I'll keep watching, and I'm curious to see where it goes. They're doing a good job of pacing the show, setting up the mystery and establishing the characters and situations. But I know at least one friend who has already stopped watching (after ep 2 of 10) because it's moving too slowly. There are better things on TV, but we get so little Torchwood that I'll do my best to overlook its shortcomings and enjoy the good bits. Now bring on the Cap'n Jack sex scenes!

:tng:
It appears the new Enterprise has a class name! Part four of the design diary is up on the STO site (leader text only), but they're cross-promoting with CBS and placing part four on startrek.com. At this hour it appears someone may have jumped the gun as the web team over over at ST doesn't have the article up yet.

But stayed tuned, chances are it'll probably be out today. There's also a couple (tiny) images on the in game render on the STO page:

I personally love it. I found children of the Earth to be just as enthralling but the ending upset me quite a bit. I like the story of Miracle day. It's engrossing and entertaining and I can't wait till the next episode! :D

So what is the general opinion of Miracle Day so far?

Being a HUGE Torchwood fan since day 1, I think Children of Earth still ranks higher IMO, but then again, we still have 8 episodes to go...!

I've seen that actor before, but none of the pictured actors on IMDB from the second episode look like him (and I don't recall the character's name). It's going to nag me until I figure this out. Going to have to pull up OnDemand at some point this week and rewatch the credits and try to get the steward's character's name.

Yeah, Anna is the leader. She over threw her mother and took control.

Diana may show up later in the series.

Im just waiting for the day when a gay character can be added to a series, on a standard network, with no drama. They either have to be exceedingly fem or someone of the opposite sex needs to seduce them when they admit with much embarassment that they are gay.

Like Will and Grace?

Although there have been plenty of ambiguously gay characters throughout the latter half of the 20th century. They were always understood to be gay, but it was never mentioned.

Though I'm blanking on any examples, just now.

Personally, I long for the day when Asian characters can have as much leading actor time. I'm sure that a few have been done outside of being typecast as martial artists, mathematicians, or slitty eyed (and therefore untrustworthy) bad guys... I just can't think of any.

Nah, that would've been too "Death Becomes Her," maybe there was some nerve damage and she couldn't move her arms too much. I liked that actress from Dollhouse though.
