It still is. Fleets only show up in the Fleet Search if there is someone online in them with the Invite ability.

What's your character name and @handle? I can send you and offline invite.

Is the fleet still in tribble? I looked for it but didn't see it and was interested in joining if it still is.

Glimpses

((What can I say, I'm a little too excited for what's to come, so I decided to share some tidbits...))

"It's only a matter of time before they make their move. We need to be ready when they do."

"You are a worthless coward with no spirit! You are afraid of ghosts in the night and nothing more!"

"There have been reports of a House of Nagh reD making a bit of a stir in the High Council."

"You cannot win. A fight would not just kill you, but destroy everything your father has built! It would be a death with no honor!"

"Nick, I do not need to remind you that this could be a very dangerous move for the fleet."

"I'm going to request that Captain Dugzon Jaz join you. Apparently, one his previous hosts was an ambassador well-versed in Klingon culture."

"Do you miss it? Starfleet, I mean."

"Run! We have to get out of here now!"

"Admiral, they're here! The Borg are here!"

I know! I feel like I've been waiting forever for this game. I have a friend or two who have been in the really closed beta and they tease me about it.

Re: KoS Site Issues

July 29 2011
I've been trying to fix the CSS issue with the login module for sometime. The solution so far has alluded me.

The documents will be modified with time to be Knights/Lords of Stonewall specific.

Yeah, the member lists have been broken for some time, on Stonewall Fleet's site too. No patch for it as of yet.

What would cause a group of Sith and Jedi to cooperate and maintain a safe environment for those of differing sexual orientations and gender identities? What kind of bond would it take for them to put aside their differences during a time of war? How long would such an alliance last and how long ago did it begin?

Excellent questions! I love this fleet!

The obvious answer, and the one STO uses, to the question of what would cause enemies to band together is: a common enemy. Not knowing if there will be any overarching story line to SW:TOR as there is to STO, we may have to create our own, imaginary enemy. (It's not so hard; politicians do it all the time.)

If we were just talking about Sith and Jedi, then a good enemy for them would be someone who threatens to wipe out the Force, light and dark side alike. Think about the X-Men movies, and how being a mutant is analogous to being gay, whether you're on Xavier's or Magneto's team.

But there are also muggles (sorry, does Star Wars have a word for non-Force-sensitive beings?) in the game. And they fight on opposite sides, too. Hmmm.

The other thing that can bring enemies together is something they share. This is exemplified by Stonewall Fleet itself, and the way we have become a family based only on our love of STO and our sexuality (or openness to GLBTQosity). It could be argued this is an extension of the "common enemy" thing, where the rest of the players in STO are the (potential) common enemy, so we set up a safe space where we don't have to be on our guard all the time.

Many times what is shared is something as simple as geography--coming from the same neighborhood or school. Or, by extension, clan or family. So one RP solution could go something like this:

In the days before the Old Republic, outlying systems banded together in loose accords in the interest of self preservation. These small alliances were fragile, and sometimes held together through ties of betrothal between planets' greatest warriors. One such alliance, hailing from the deep Stonewall sector, possessed extremely strong familial ties. Ties that still echo and reverberate through its descendants of all races.

With a history of powerful warriors of all types, skills, genders and orientations, the Stonewall clan still finds its ways threatened by the uniformity of the Republic. And while members sometimes meet each other as foes on the galaxy's battlefields, they have also been known to come together when necessary, to defend the ancient honor of the clan.

Or something. :cheer:

KoS Site Issues

July 28 2011
With SW:TOR Pre-Orders going out, and a recent discussion of the Trooper member list, I figured I'd hop over to the Knights of Stonewall version of the site.

I noticed a few technical issues that may impact visitor's first impression of the site:

1. Login - The Images (bust and key) do not align with the Username and Password field boxes. When I go to enter my login information, it aligns with the images, but not the entry boxes (see attached file).

2. Welcome Center: The documents generally refer only to Stonewall Fleet and STO. I don't know if there is any intention to make this information "game/fleet" neutral or to have a document specifically set up for KoS/LoS. I would be willing to help out if you would like some assistance in this area.

3. User Lists:
a. Click "Guild Roster" brings up a page that just says "No user found."
b. Clicking any of the subcategories of Guild Roster (Galactic Republic, Sith Empire, or any of the actual classes) brings up a 404 - Component not found error.
c. Clicking "Visitors" also brings up the 404 - Component not found error.

Hope this helps you guys in some way.

I'd really like a little RP history to play into our Bio. Maybe some RPers could help with this?

I blame Sean for the Necromancy... but did have a thought.

Why do they have to be united in an alliance so to speak. Jedi would be believers of the "kumbaya" version of "equality" in everyone getting along. The Sith would believe in "equality" in the way that they only care if you are strong or weak, succeed or fail, nothing else really matters in their estimation.

Maybe an oversimplification, but just a thought...
