Yeah, I'm liking it too.

I love that you can have multiple accounts on multiple forums in the same app.

Coincidently, the forums at The Quantum Cafe also support Tapatalk now. :))

The guild leader decides who's in and who's not.

And again it's not for us Europeans  , only for the US.

Is there a free version?

Applications now being accepted for Officers

August 16 2011
I will now be accepting the first group of applications for Officer positions in Knights and Lords of Stonewall.

Star Wars: The Old Republic will be the proving ground for the larger Stonewall Community's first foray into being a multi-guild gaming community (at least in the official sense). To begin this journey, we need a group of talented and dedicated Officers to lead the guild now, as it forms it roots, to far into the future.

Do you have what it takes to stand up and lead into the new frontier?
Do you wish to be a major part in a fast growing section of our community?
Do you want to have a voice in command level decisions for Knights and Lords of Stonewall?

If you wish to apply, please send me your application as a message on this site. Consider the points below in your application, but this is not a question and answer session. Applications should be in the form of prose and can include any additional information that you feel is relevant.

There is no set number of positions available. Applicants will be accepted based on the quality of their application. Making note of your history with Stonewall Fleet in your application may help, but new members will not have this held against them; they will not be declined because they recently join the guild or lack of involvement with Star Trek Online. Positions can include combat, social, crafting, diplomacy, Jedi affairs, Sith affairs, forum moderator and tech support, but not all position may be filled.

Deadline for applications will be August 23rd at 11:59 PM EST.
  • What leadership experience do you have, in a guild or otherwise, that would make you ideal for this position?
  • What would your ideal position be within Knights and Lords of Stonewall? What would you see as your duties in this position and how would you go about completing them? If the positions listed above do not conform to your ideal, feel free to describe your own.
  • What sklls and abilities do you have that would make you an asset as an Officer?
  • Where are you located? What time zone are you in? Do you plan to initially play as Jedi or Sith? What will your beginning class choice be?
  • How long do you see yourself filling this position for? Do you foresee any life changes that may take you away from the guild?
  • What other MMOs have you played and how long for each? How long do you plan on play Star Wars: The Old Republic? Have you pre-ordered the game? How long have you been interested in playing TOR and what peeked your interest?

Re: The Torchwood thread

August 16 2011
I'm not a big fan of the direction this torchwood is taking, it stresses me and upsets me, but it is torchwood and it is Captain Jack and Gwen Cooper, so I'll keep watching it.

I was wondering when they'd bring in incineration as soon as I saw the splat-man that somehow was not incinerated by his own blast and when they shot down the helicopter. It also made me wonder why they didn't try to see why they couldn't just take out the brain and put it into deep freeze. After all, if it is the body that is destroyed and impossible to repair, and yet every cell carries on living; it stands to reason that the best way to alleviate the constant pain of people who have suffered terrible trauma would be to remove their brain and put it into a deep freeze until a technology can be created to clone them a new body or build them a new robotic body (Yikes! Cybermen!) Brains / heads are much easier to store and catalogue, as well. Once the head/brain has been placed into the deep freeze, the remaining body could be incinerated (transformed from living tissue into carbon) or dissolved in acids (reduced to their component chemicals... (Soylent Green is people! It's peeeeeeepullllll!!))

Also: Brain death? So every cell carries on living regardless of the circumstances.... Except brain cells? After all, brain death occurs when the brain cells, starved of oxygen, actually die. They actually mentioned on a couple of instances that some people are now just vegetables or are brain dead. That seems to go contraflow to what they've been saying the entire time. I understand that that is just part of the BBC sci-fi package and I normally ignore it, but in this show it bothers the heck out of me.

Re: I also applied on the SWTOR.com site now

I figure replying to this works as opposed to creating a new thread. I applied to be in the Fleet- er Guild on the TOR site. I had forgotten that Stonewall would be in TOR as well. :)

I think they want to appeal to others from outside the Dr Who fanbase and don't want to alienate them but they will have to mention it soon due to Captain Jack's immortality.

I agree it has got better and better although the end of the last episode made me so uncomfortable (in a good way).

I met Eve Myles a few weeks ago (she lives down the road) and she is lovely. I've known her from Welsh dramas for about 10 years, way before Torchwood, and always been a fan.
