For Knights: From Diversity comes Strength and Balance.
For Lords: From Diversity comes Strength and Power.

A combined: Diversity brings Balance and Power.

What should the moto be for Knights of Stonewall? Should we stick with Strength in Diversity or go with something different for the new guild?

Sounds good to me. Don't see why we should use a different moto for SWTOR.

I liked Strength in Diversity, but maybe for star wars something like "The Force of Diversity" so its like the same but Has star wars as the theme

I like this one too. Sounds more Star Wars.

Ahh ok that makes much more sense and I can see why people would be concerned then.

Well, AoE Online launched today and I've been playing it a bit. It's a pretty interesting game, a lot like the others.

You have a Capital City, somewhat like the Home City in Age of Empires III, where you upgrade your troops, units and buildings with gear of different rarity (Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Very Rare). Every building and unit you want to use needs to be unlocked in your Capital City before using them in the the 'quests' which makes leveling slow business.

Sadly, villagers require resource drop off points again. I loved the Atlantians in Age of Mythology for not needing resource huts and I took for granted not having them in AoE III. Priests can convert troops to their side again though!

Quests are how you level up your Capital City in the game, earning you Tech points, to unlock new building and units. You also earn Empire Points, a currency to buy unique items, all of which require a premium account to use. Each quest is a different mission where you have to complete certain objectives to finish it and earn the rewards, kinda different from previous AoE games. Some are timed, but I've had no trouble completing them.

It's a F2P game through and through. Noobs are every where. They already have an in-game store backed full of stuff that totals to over 125 dollars. Premiums users get extreme boosts in combat and everything else, sadly.

The idea is for the to be a defacto 'gay server' like Proudmore in WoW which most, but not all, glbt guilds are on. My understanding is that it helps create a better sense of community on that server and, I can imagine, makes planning for Pride Festivities much easier and more inclusive.

This wouldn't be a binding or required; just our community trying to establish a home inside the game.

Many guilds for TOR are gearing up for Phase 2 of the guild deployment which is Alignment. Each guild gets to pick Allies and Adversaries. An ally is a guild of the same faction as your guild and an adversary is a guild of the opposite faction of your guild, that you've made some arrangement with.

The idea is that who ever you have set as your ally/adversary will be put onto the same server. For instance, when I get around to creating the Lords of Stonewall guild, I can set them as Adversaries to Knights of Stonewall so that both guilds will be on the same sever, just opposing factions.

The current thinking is that only the first ally and adversary on your list will actually get put on the same server as you, so a lot of the planning the glbt guilds have already been doing won't work as they were hoping. Blooddoll is hoping to get Bioware's help in this matter so that later on glbt guilds won't have to hop servers to all be in one place.

My friends and I made our own guild, before I even know about yall ;), I would not want to be forced to be on a particular server simply because we let in "the gays." I mean God only knows what name for the server they picked, and I like a lot of people rp a bit in name choices. Of course if they have two servers at launch this makes the point moot. ;)

Hey there!

I'm still pretty much on the fence about whether I want to play SWTOR or not, but for now I'd still like to understand what you're asking for here...

Why do all the LGBT guilds need to be on the same server? I'm assuming you're not implying that there should be a separate server *just* for the LGBT community, 'cause obviously that would be a very bad thing. Of course everyone in a particular guild need to agree on which server to operate, but why ought *all* of the LGBT guilds be forced to be on the same server? Surely this can only lead to people restricted to playing in a certain time-frame being potentially unsupported? If there are enough people who want to play on server X and want to play together, then there's no reason why they shouldn't have their own fleet there. And if there isn't enough people to warrant this, then they'll naturally gravitate to either another guild in their time zone, or one of the LGBT guilds on the other server, according to *their* preference.

So why is this a Dev issue? Once a fleet has chosen which server to play on, it's simply up to the players to join the appropriate server in order to play with their fleet. What exactly are you expecting from the Devs?

Re: Knights of Stonewall Moto?

Our STO motto is excellent and resonates very well with the Trek universe but it also has a better context in the Trek universe than in the Star Wars universe.

The Trek universe is all about the quest for knowlege and charting the unknown possibilites of existence (to quote Q) and our motto does compliment that ideal. The Star Wars universe is steeped more deeply in that classic (if not cliche'd) battle between good and evil. I think our motto should reflect our stance in that conflict. The term Stonewall has taken on the meaning of standing firm against all adversity for what is right and just.

So with that in mind, I think our motto should be something like: Standing For What Is Just or To Stand Strong For Justice etc, or even Justice and Equality For All.
