Hey WarWidow..

You should be a lot more careful with what content you post. The last thing you want is Bioware to find out you broke the NDA and reject your beta access. Just a friendly tip

Good point . But what are the chances bioware is going to be reading our forums :P

You don't need an official from Bioware to read it, just someone, who knows someone who works at Bioware. The NDA is there for a reason, and we need to respect it. That is my only point. Yes we are among friends here but Information has a way of getting out and being blown out of proportion. You just need someone to read something that is supposed to be kept quite by an NDA and it gets told to friends who misunderstand and tell other friends, a week later it's causing a firestorm all over the blog-o-sphere as something far from what it was originally meant.

I've lost a stone over the last month through marathon training. I won't be losing any more so won't be entering but I wish everyone luck. I have an after photo but no before one, wish I had taken one.

Not sure why people are being critical of Lifers since both Lifers and Subbers are going to be needed as of Sept 22nd to make the new economy work after all high demand and low supply makes high prices. By this I mean we will have lots of Dilithium and very few CP's if any.

They are changing things so most decent gear and a few ships are being bought for Dilithium, likely large amounts of, and this means that those with high end toons are going to need a fair amount. The Freepers on the other hand will likely be wanting CP points to buy basic upgrades, such as Boff slots and inventory slots, and so will farm Dilithium and just need somebody willing to sell CP's to them. A Freeper is not likely to sell so that just leaves those who are lifers and possibly subbers.

Lifers and subbers are being given a stipend of 400 points per month which lets face it is not going to buy a ship anytime soon, so chances are they are going to be the folks fueling the market and keeping Freepers interested. It is the very fact that these have not been bought directly which makes them more likely to be inclined to trade them away.

My conclusion is that by doing this they turn lifers into a potential asset and not a liability as suggested as they then serve an essential purpose. A dead market would otherwise put off many potential players and the fact they will be acclimatised to the store will encourage them to buy points even if only in small amounts at a time.

Just to note. Every machine i've built for someone with an Intel processor from what I here is still running. My old machine I sold is going strong 9 years at my mates house and still running pretty damn fast considering the years it has on it. The only thing upgraded has been the memory. I just prefer intel and they have a good 3 year warranty.

Intel. If you can go for an i5 even better. You don't have to spend the money on a i7 unless you want extremely high performance and even then they don't have the software to fully utilize the hardware components. CACHE MEMORY make sure that you get a good amount of cache, I recommend over 3MB minimum for decent performance for L2 or L3 Cache, but if you can spare the cash get one with 8MB or above.

You are ideally looking for at least 4GB of DDR3 RAM at a decent MHZ rate. Look at the power supply make sure it pumps enough power to the system instead of a sub standard one that will run for a year and burn out. You can calculate the power outage by times the Amps x volts.

Believe it or not lower end mother boards are more reliable than complex ones, but you do miss out on some features for lower level boards such as USB 3.0.

Hmmm... What else lol my brain is a bit mashed today.

Try and get at least 500GB hard drive space with SATAII. If your building one I personally prefer Gigabyte for boards.

For Graphics you want to try and stick with PCI-E with a good amount of pipelines, clock speeds etc the memory on a graphics card isn't as important as you may think. Going for a 2GB instead of 1GB with less pipelines, clock speed and shaders is basically shooting yourself in the foot. I highly recommend Gigabytes cards also such as the GTS250 or 260. If you want super duper graphics you might want to look into SLI or ATI crossfire.

Hopefully those that are good with computers will post some suggestions. I've started the begining phase of looking for a computer but I'm so overwhelmed with all the options I have no idea what is good or worth getting. I don't want to purchase something this year that I have to replace in one or two years.
