Yep. Like Dragon Age, Fallout III and such, most recent RPG's use similar engines so you can use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out from a Neverwinter Nights 2 feel to an Oblivion type first person view, whichever you like more. I prefer the former myself.

Re: Client Download Question

December 02 2011
That is the client for beta testing. There is a new client. However it will not be released until after the 10th they say. Everyone who has pre-ordered and has the code entered on the Tor website will be given an email to the address they posted. It will contain a link to the new client. Dont waste your time and hard drive with the old one. its useless as of this point. (unless your still in beta1 group).

hope that helps

So while playing through the beta, a couple of weekends ago, I was training my knight and I am guessing I fidgeted with something while I was in combat that I lost total view of my avatar. At first I thought it was a glitch and I was adamant on filling out a ticket but I was caught in another fight and I notices that my blade appeared on my screen and I was wowed that I could play in first person. Not that I played like so, but it was interesting.

Here's two more for the list...

Space battles (which I really enjoy) get much easier when you hit 16 and can buy shields and a shield generator. It's still totally doable before that, but obviously a hull and no shields ain't ideal.

I am jealous of all you people who actually gained a spaceship =/

Client Download Question

December 01 2011
Wondering if anyone can offer direction on the topic of downloading the client to a new computer. I pre ordered, have the code on my account and I played in beta. BUT I played the beta on my old machine.

For go live will there be some place to download the client or do I need to wait for the disc's that I ordered?

I tried searching the offical forums (searched for Client Download) but could find anything that was a specific on what we need to do.

Any guidance is great and I really apologize if this was covered in a previous topic.

Also, from what I've read so far, speeder training (mount) costs 40k, the speeder itself, 8k, add the cost of skill training and gearing up...it just makes more sense to take slicing to lvl 50, to bring in the credits. After 50, reskill and powerlvl your chosen crafting very quickly.

Anyways thats what I plan to do, the crafting mat swap thing sounds awesome and could work with with my plans too. :)

Very interesting as Pre-Orders are getting a STAP to use, I guess they are not considering this a speeder/mount? I would hate to have to come up with 40K credits to use something I receive as a gift for pre-ordering. Or have I missed something?

How do you actually train in the skills and/or use the schematics you start with? Do you just tell you companion go go craft or what? I did not really look into it during the beta.

You get a protocol droid on your ship (at least both jedi classes do). He says he can't fight implying he can't accompany you on your adventures, but if you do take him out as a companion, he HEALs you.

Space battles (which I really enjoy) get much easier when you hit 16 and can buy shields and a shield generator. It's still totally doable before that, but obviously a hull and no shields ain't ideal.

Awesome... thanks so much!

The bind point thing is pretty funny. I was avoiding the terminals because I thought it would override my current bind point (then wondered why the bind point was locked when I used my teleporter). I LOVE that we can tp to any discovered bind point. (I hate running around).

I'm extremely interested in cooperative crafting as a guild

I too tend to be a crafter, typically specializing in light armor as I tend to be a healer, so I am down with the cooperative. Anything I can do to support KoS and LoS.

I was also in a guild once where we just planned a monthly swap meet.. where people could come and request stuff bring mats if they have them etc.. this was especially good for the non-crafters or lower level players as it could help them gear up fairly well.

I would even be willing to assist with organizing crafting sessions / swap meets etc....
