Q: What's the point of Slicing?

A: Slicing is technically a gathering skill, but it doesn't directly support any particular crafting skill. Instead, it provides credits and schematics for all crafting skills.

Actually, slicing goes with cybertech:

"Slicing: For Crafting, Cybertech is actually a nice one to pair up with, but like Investigation before it, Slicing also offers a nice side benefit of allowing you to discover additional missions. These are one-time missions that cost more to run, but have a higher chance at yielding better materials. For Cybertech, Slicing can yield rare tech schematics (gadgets, vehicles, and spaceship upgrades). This skill has been tweaked quite a bit with regards to how many credits one can get from the “skillboxes,” but it still ends up being a pretty lucrative skill. Slicing also yields Augments that can be slotted into your gear."

Are you asking to post some stories about our toons and their adventures in the star wars universe or just stories of the star wars universe in general?

I posted some a little while back. Didn't involve anything from the Star Wars prime universe, since I kind of feel that it's a bit sacrilegious to do so; just a character of mine from SWG.

Re: Anyone else invited to FINAL testing weekend?

Just logged out for a quick bite but should be hopping back in a bit later.

Look for Casro (17 Smuggler Scoundrel) or Jachin (16 Jedi Sentinel).

Looking forward to seeing you in-game!

I'm on Leviathan too from last weekend. These are my toons. If you see me say hi! I'm mostly on Mhaxx tonight. =)

Bearr (Jedi Guardian)
Hawt (Sith Inquisitor)
Mhaxx (Trooper)
Rhyder (JediSage)

I can't wait for launch so I can meet everyone in game and say hey!

I'll try to search and see if you guys are on.

Re: Calling All SW:TOR Crafters!

Saw this from another site, made sense, :

"In crafting, you buy green recipes from vendors. Then you must reverse-engineer the greens you make (like disenchant in WoW) to discover the blue recipe (luck based, but it usually doesn't take long). Once you learn the blue, do the same thing to learn the purple version of the recipe. Some of the reverse-engineered purple recipes have multiple versions too. You might learn the crit version of a gun, if you keep RE'ing the blue you can learn the others too.

I heard many people complain that crafted items weren't very useful that didn't realize you can basically keep yourself decked out in leveling purples if you put the time in. Its a critical part of the crafting system that is never really explained"

Also, Companions can queue up crafting up to 4 or 5 times.

Openly Gay Trek Character

December 04 2011
Stumbled across this article completely by accident, but it was an interesting little read even if it is several years old... I think any new series would be ready for a gay character!

P.S. Lt. Hawk was sorta cute... shame he got assimilated. :(

Re: Anyone else in the final beta test?

No worries. There have been people testing continuously for a while now. But, to my understanding, the "events" pretty much last a weekend. This one will be the final beta testing event before early access on December 15th.

Oops, thought that one was about last weekend, since it says beta testing weekend, whereas this is a just the final beta, with an unspecified length.

I have fun when I get to see it. It's a little far down my list of shows I try to catch in the little time I have to do so, but it's always fun.

As far as Dinosaurs go I find myself watching the new season of Primeval more. Last season was a total thrill ride and this one is just getting better.

I played EVE briefly years ago... until I found out there are no actual players but only spaceships and a vast darkness with plenty of distant astral farms... wasn't for me.

You can actually get out of your ship and walk around now. :P

I would try the GLBTA Channel. A good number of people use it to chit chat.

Like Nicholas mentioned above, my friend too confirmed that EVE is very homophobic and there aren't any openly gay guilds/corporations out there. There is a small "gay friendly" corp who's leader & main officers are gay. They are sending out invites to players who have the guts to post anything gay related in forums but that corp is strictly in the closet and you can't find them with the search option I was told. I watched them on Hulu because I never get to see them on TV because of timing. I hate the 7 day waiting period...I'm so impatient. I love the show. So far, I like how they've had an episode about just about every major character just to get some personality development behind the people. Something I do really like is that while it's sci fi/fantasy, it's not over the top. I'd like to see a little more depth to the storylines though. So far, it's been a little superficial while they build some momentum behind the gate being bisexual (trying to get it to go both says LOL). The last episode was a little disappointing because of who the colony spy.

TatŪine :3

It's a Jawa balloon. You climb on an "abandoned" sandcrawler (I enquote it because the lights are all on on the inside) and wait up to 40 minutes for it to arrive and then its a 20 minute ride in the gondola to another "abandoned" crawler. :P When I did it, the person with whom I was riding was constantly sliding backwards; although, to them, I was the one sliding backwards.

ooh neat. more fun to look forward to!

I chatted extensively with an opposite faction player while riding the balloon to get to the Datacrons.

interesting. and in contradiction to the OP's statement. Riding balloons sounds fun though. Where do they have balloons?

Got my invite too .... Shoulda checked on here to see what the skinny on all this was, since I didn't know we had a beta guild. I have two characters right now on Leviathan. Siorae (Jedi Sentinel) on Republic side and Desiderus (Sith Marauder) on Imp side. Really liking Imp story line, btw. Totally evil and wicked and all that. I'll check back later today and see if anyone who can invite to the beta guilds is on.
