Re: could use advice on upgrading my graphics card

I just guesstimated I didn't do huge jumps. On my old computer that had 300w I went to a 450 or 500w and went with a 5770 card but you could go with an nvidia version as well.

Re: What server are the guilds going to be on?

December 06 2011
I'm certain Nick has gone above and beyond to make sure Knights of Stonewall followed all instructions in the Pre-Launch Guild Program. Also, I'm pretty sure KoS was one of the earliest guilds to get set up so if timing determines what server we'll be placed on there really shouldn't be a problem with that.

I'm really looking forward to grouping up with you guys. Corwund and I ran around together for 1 1/2 days this past weekend helping each other with our class quests -- and get our ships! While I missed out on some aspects of the game during these past 2 beta weekends (never did get to do a Flashpoint), it just whetted my apetite to jump back in and correct some errors I made with my Smuggler first time around. Now I guess the only thing left to do now is wait and watch for the e-mails that will say where and when I'll be playing. I hope I can deal with the suspense!!

Re: Uninstall the Game-Testing Client email msg

December 06 2011
Just tried to log in to see if the game would patch but got the "Server not Responding" message.

Not sure if they're still doing maintenance or if the servers are down until closer to early access.

Doesn't mean I won't stop trying, though.

Just found this on the forums:

In preparation for the official release of Star Wars: The Old Republic, we wanted to make sure that everyone has the correct game client installed on their machine.

If you participated in our Game Testing Program before November 25th, we recommend that you uninstall the game testing client (refer to instructions below) and then download and install the launch game client. We’ll update this post with more instructions when they’re available. The size of the launch game client is approximately 27 GB.

If you have played in our game testing program at any point from November 25th onwards, you will not need to re-install the game client, as you should already have the launch version installed.

Here's a link to the whole thing:

ooo techjo, thank you. Friday the 25th was the first time I beta tested SWTOR. In preparation, I had downloaded the game a couple days before that. I checked and my SWTOR directory is only 18.5gb. It didn't occur to me that I might have the "old" version of the game even though I read most of what you posted here. Thanks for saving me pain later on. :cheer:

Everyone I talked to in-game this past weekend also thought we would just patch the client we have now. This is a surprise.

It makes me kinda sad to uninstall it. Maybe I'll open the installer one last time and take a screen print before I wipe it out.

Oh well, at least we'll be starting off with a brand new shiny game client for launch!!

(I feel like I'm 8 years old and I'm waiting for Santa Clause to come).

How long have you been in Beta, is your beta client old or the new one released for the Thanksgiving weekend test

I thought we were ok if we downloaded the other week and just wondered if you got the email because you have the older client

EDIT UPDATE: According to BioWare's FAQ, the latest build (if you tested after 11/25/11) does not need to be installed and should patch to the retail version when you gain access (Early or Launch).

[strike]My husband was part of the General testing population and played right through Sunday. He needs to uninstall as well. Everyone needs to uninstall.

I'm just hoping they are smart enough to allow us to start download several days before Early Access is supposed to start. There won't be a lot of happy people if they hold the client until the day EA begins.[/strike]

Been waiting for this game for must be 5 years, ever since Bioware announced they were working on a secret mmo project (worst secret ever :))
Can't believe it's finally here

GAME the main UK games store took a week to mail out pre order codes so I doubt I will be given access on the 15th but will be in ASAP to meet you all. I work in retail so this isn't the best time of year for me, spare time wise but hopefully I can get some quality time in

Recently even replayed KOTOR 1 and 2 to get into the spirit, after all these years both those games are still amazing.

Main will be a Miraluka Jedi Sage named Mynara

I just received this email from Bioware. So it looks like we need to wait for the email with the new download. I think I read that it would come out around the 10th.

ya I saw that myself. I didn't really see the point behind this system in the first place as it's unlikely that every guild will get placed were they want to go. If nothing else, we can just delete the guild and create it on the correct server if we get screwed.

Yes, we sure can.

And please, if we do get screwed, don't blame us. :P
We've done our best to follow all of the rules and steps necessary to be put on the same server.

Lets hope for the best but plan for the worst. I'm sure Bioware will do the best they can but if it doesn't work out lets just roll with it and keep the lines of communication open so we can get on the correct server.

I'm just dang excited the game is coming out in 10 days! Woot!!!

I'm with you, it feels like a heck of a long time. I only heard about the game back in July but was hooked from the first trailer I watched on the official forums.

I have to work the morning of the 15th, but I will log on at midnight to snagg a few names and then be back in the afternoon.(that is if I'm lucky enough to get in on the 15th for early access, it could be friday or saturday)

My X got me into MMO's in 2003 with DAoC. I've been playing solo since 2005, I'm really looking forward to the game and getting a chance to know you all.

I have 10 days to figure out what I'm going to be playing. ugh! I know it will be republic side to start with but I'm an altaholic so I'll have one of each class eventually.

I know I can't get off on the 15th, if I even can play that day or not, but I will be online ASAP to play my Jedi Sentinal. I played it in beta and fell in love, much more so than with my Smuggler. I can't wait to play. Anyone that is up for forming a casual group for night and weekend play let me know. My Jedi's name will be Xavian. My fiance will also be on as soon as he can, name TBD. I look forward to playing with the entire guild.
