I like playing healers usually but from what I've seen of the healer gameplay, it looks rather boring. Just healthbar watching, yawnfest. Maybe I've been spoilt by games like AoC and DCUO that offer a very active healer experience, you're fighting as much as dps and most heals are aoe.

But maybe if they offer advance class respec, I'll give a healer class a try.

there is some of that with the consular/inquistor. played inq this last build and got him up to 40. he was great fun

Yeah, no kidding! I got so frustrated with the lack of healers that I rolled one. Didn't expect to love it so much, as I usually play tanks. I had the most fun on those rare occasions where there were two healers on the team. Hope we get to team up Samhain! I'm also going to play a Sage healer, so I'll probably have lots of questions in-game :).

will do and sure will! :) will be fun

While leveling as Sage is it realistic to group as DPS if you don't feel like healing since 2 of the 3 talent trees are DPS? I'm wondering because Sage is going to be my main but I may not always want to heal. It's seems the developers have made the hybrid classes very diverse and I love that. I'm just wondering if I go Sage if I'll be expected to always heal in groups.

To tell you the truth, I'm having a tough time deciding between Sage, Guardian and Commando. I would rather tank than heal in a group but I like the playstyle and the story of the Sage. sigh.. this is my altoholic self... lol

Which would be the most useful to the guild in groups between those three in your opinion?

Well IMHO I think tanks/healers are ALWAYS the most requested. i remember many times where there was NO healers seemingly on at all. there would be spam in chat for hours for a healer and often times a tank. DPS however like always is a dime a dozen

I feel much the same way. I want to learn to craft lightsaber crystals but so far it has given me no reward, although I only got to level 20. I can't wait to see what the upper echelons of the crafting specs can lead to. I feel as though they put a lot of thought into this game due to a tendancy of their players to lose interest after a while and move on, so they have some great suprises still in store for us later on.

I can't wait to play this week! Happy crafting!

i myself and extremely pumped to go raiding. i will be a healer and i have played in the swtor beta for many months. i know the seer ac very well :P

So is endgame healing like in WoW etc, where the healer is totally dedicated to healing (which I always want to enjoy but never seem to be able to)? I've read that dedicated healing isn't as required in SWTOR, but you would know better I think...

you spend a lot of time healing but not all of it. you do have time for cc, minor damage, and stunning. in fact if you have a good tank he will call on your ability to cc and stun often WHILE healing. we always had tremendous success with me doing that.

although I don't have a raiding background this is one area I would love to have more exposure with. My main is going to be a Jedi Shadow, as of right now I anticipate that my focus will be DPS with some Tanking abilities hopefully so that I can serve as an off-tank during missions.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to atleast get my toes wet but I definately want to participate in the end game in SWTOR!

Like many of the others have mentioned so far, I'm trying to keep busy doing the things around the house that need to get done before we get buried in snow this winter, decorating for christmas.

Doesn't mean I'm not chomping at the bit to play some SWTOR!

Finished Batman: Arkham City before jumping into Assassin's Creed: Revelations and Saints Row: The Third. After having participated in SW:TOR beta, I can say that Batman, by far, is the best game I've played, probably, all year. That's saying a lot because both Assassin's Creed and Saint's Row are great games by themselves (for vastly different reasons). I haven't played Skyrim yet because I just never could get caught up in Oblivion. I'll probably pick it up when it's massively discounted on Steam to see if it's enough of a departure to keep me playing.

That aside I've been busy as hell decorating, cooking and cleaning in preparation for Christmas, and working on the Stonewall Times in hopes I can get the layout done and the issue distributed before Tuesday.

Finished my Christmas shopping today (I think), cleaned up the apartment, checked the BioWare Social Network for a message from an artist who've I commissioned artwork from and have been monitoring the SWTOR launcher just in case they try sneaking in another patch.

Oh, and the finale to "The Amazing Race" starts in 35 minutes so I'll be watching that.

(Translation: I'm doing everything possible to keep my mind off the fact that e-mails should be going out tomorrow that will finally say what server we're on and when we can access the game.)

Oh, look - the underside of my tables need cleaning...

i'm intrigued by crafting, though I seem to get frustrated with it and end up just doing resource gathering. My concern is that it won't actually be useful and will just be a time and money sink.

That said, I'm curious and plan to do it.

one of the things that bug me is not really making stuff that anyone has use for. If I do crafting for guildies that is obviously good.

Crafting ship gear and speeders sounds awesome. but if it will be more annoying and costly to make it myself, then why bother, ya know.

Ohh... question...
Is the best stuff bind-on-pickup? if so that could be a big incentive.

Anyway, I like helping peeps, so happy to join the fun, but, I hesitate to jump in because a) I may find out quickly I don't enjoy it or (b) i may not end up being in SWTOR for a very long time (given mmo's poor track record of keeping me more than 6 months or so). I'd feel bad if I started out helping and then just abandoned it.

I've cleaned my entire house, did the laundry and rolled a new lock in wow all just to keep my mind off SWTOR because I'm going nuts waiting. :pinch:

I've never had a game grab hold of me like this.

See... I wish I could be productive like you! I've been watching Youtube videos of SWTOR gameplay. Naturally that only makes things worse :(.

Same here! All other games have totally lost their shine for me. Usually I can count of Skyrim or Dwarf Fortress to completely time warp me from 1 day to the next. However, now all I can think about is SWTOR. Argh!
