I dabbled with raiding in LOTRO, and kinda made it a weekly thing in Age of Conan. The only thing I absolutely hated was the dice-rolling for needed gear.

My die rolls sucked. I mean, really, Really, REALLY sucked. :(

Classic example: Age of Conan. I played a barbarian. Barbarian chest piece dropped as loot. in a full raid of 24, there were only two barbs. The other barb rolled a 15.

I rolled a 13.

I needed 2 pieces to finish the set. I never got them, even after a year of weekly raiding. I gave up shortly before my yearly sub expired.

That being said, I nevertheless want to give TOR's raiding a try. I seem to have read that everyone in the raid will get something, which I totally agree with. Nothing is worse than busting your glutes for 2 hours beating mega-bosses and walking away empty-handed.

Holy cow you could change the games name to WoW and that was what I was going thru. I just could not win a role for my life, all my pieces came when no one else wanted them and I was a main healer. :silly:

Bioware is GLBT friendly. From chit chatting with a few "people " during beta. There are a few gay/lesbian devs and a GLBT friendly environment at Bioware. I named a toon Jack Twist. That got me some attention, and whispers / tells. He was my Brokeback Jedi. Tall blonde, went swimming alot on Tython...

does that mean I can flirt with my companion of the same gender and get the "romance" storyline? :woohoo:

Haven't seen Vega, but I was disappointed my ManShep couldn't get with Alenko in ME1. That said, I'm really hoping for Jacob to be an option in ME2. I think my jaw dropped the first time I saw him leaning against the weapons table in that form-fitting uniform of his.

Thanks for the compliment on my sig :) I can make you one if you want. just need a character pic, name and class.

This just recieved:

Greetings,

Thank you for participating in the Pre-Launch Guild Program* for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.

Please visit your guild page to see if your guild was assigned to a server. When Early Game Access† begins, server assignments will also be highlighted on the in-game server selection screen with a guild flag ().

If your guild was assigned a server, you'll have an in-game invitation waiting when you join the assigned server. This invite will expire on 1/2/2012 at 11:59 PM CST. If you haven't accepted the invite by then, you'll need to contact the guild leader or officers in-game for an invite. We encourage you to visit your guild page in order to save any information you'd like to keep before the above date.

I am most likely going to have a TK Sage as my main BUT...I may wind up levleling up a tank or a healer in order to be raid viable/valuable. I'll have to wait and see what the guild roster is looking like as we get closer to that point..

see, my issue with the trinity is that many people feel they have to tank or heal to be able to get a group or to be "useful" (me included). Some like to tank, some like to heal/support but most don't want to do either. I wonder if they could make healing and tanking as fun and therefore as popular as dps. i dunno.

I personally enjoy tanking (not as much as dps), but I keep trying to make healers because I know that is the best way I can get a group. I've spent so many hours in wow for instance, trying to find a healer. And if not a healer then a tank. All these years, you think they'd come up with a decent way to work with this issue.

One of the organizers for the glbt coalition, if you will, contacted someone to do with the guild deployment to make sure that we'd get moved together.

I don't think the server name was accidental in the slightest and I find it very fitting. :P

Less than 24 hours before the first invites go out. I have an Astronomy final starting at 8am but should be home by 10am. I put in the codes for me and Misty around 10:30 the day the game went on sale, so I expect to be in the first day (crosses fingers). I can't wait to start playing with everyone.

The big buzz is that male same-gender romances will be an option in ME3. As for which companions your MaleShep can get busy with, rumors say that it will be:

a) Kaidan Alenko (the hottie biotic from ME1 who returns in ME3)

b) James Vega (the beefy trooper that will be introduced in ME3)

c) Both (I don't think my PC's processor could handle all that smexiness!)

Naturally BioWare isn't commenting on any of this, damn them. Looks like we'll find out for sure in March!

Read more of the description of that Cantina... I have a hard time imaginging that this was a fluke! Rooms with different colors...

The Jekk'Jekk Tarr was divided into five sections, each lit with a different light that represents the environment it simulates. Upon entering, a customer would arrive at the infrared chamber, which was lit with a red light. This area was favored by species that could perceive the infrared, such as the Devaronians and Trandoshans. Adjacent to the west of this chamber was the yellow, arid room, designed to simulate the harsh climate of worlds such as Ryloth and Sriluur. Because of this, this chamber was frequently inhabited by Twi'leks and Weequays alike. To the east of the infrared chamber was a green room of particularly toxic gases. A second toxin room lay to the north of this, and both areas were almost entirely used by the insectoid Gand only. It was likely that the gas in these two rooms was ammonia from their home planet Gand. The fifth chamber was non-toxic and contained no harmful fumes even to Humans. It was a private lounge used by the Quarren Exchange crime lord Visquis, and thus it was locked to anybody but Visquis and his servants. In his lounge was the entrance to his secret headquarters, which contained a dimly-lit maze with lethal gases and a jamming system to insure that datapad maps were rendered useless.[1]

Yeah Liastnir, I agree. Not a fluke AT ALL. I have to say I am very impressed with Bioware over this little bit of detail and thoughtfulness.

Glad to hear that there are more and more folks interested in raiding. I am most likely going to have a TK Sage as my main BUT...I may wind up levleling up a tank or a healer in order to be raid viable/valuable. I'll have to wait and see what the guild roster is looking like as we get closer to that point.

I like the idea of the dual spec they say they are going to offer, but until I can see how it's going to work, I am planning on having some alts for raid flexibility and crafting independence.
