drama for ya mama.. I found something..

Taint does have a unique history and a very different type of atmosphere than we provide.

They are the same Taint from WoW. Pretty much all Taint and for that matter Rough Trade guilds are members of the Rough Trade Gaming Community.

After that the subject changed and it was not brought up again. They being a gay guild was never mentioned. I'm not too worried as reading the rest of the forum I got the impression that they are not in anyway homophobic. I just can't help but wondered what he meant by drama.

Some people just love to cause drama. Every game has them. They will use anything and everything to cause it because they can (ie. Internet animosity)

I don't know about Taint because I don't really know anything about them. If someone is being a troll, it's best just to ignore them and not let them ruin your otherwise awesome gaming experience.

^^^^ This.

Remember...the greatest invention ever created was the wheel. The second greatest? The 'ignore' button. :)

Taint is the largest Horde LGBT guild on the Proudmoore server in WoW. They have over 6,000 members and 24,000 plus toons. Their membership is spread out over 10 or 12 different guilds. (I lost count of the guilds they created to hold everyone)

I was a member of taint and would tend to agree with the poster.

There are a lot of LGBT individuals who like the atomsphere. I myself do not, also I never felt like I was part of guild only a number in a bucket.

It's true if it becomes to much you can always ignore.

I'm sure we'll work out something appropriate to reward regular raiders. I still need to find out more about the loot system, but I think it may make DKP systems a moot point as everyone earns an individual reward (either an item or some tokens that can be amassed to purchase items).

Did anyone actually raid in beta?

I hope so. I only got to Black Talon (an instance where you have to group in order to complete it) Someone ninja looted a piece that was specifically for my class and not theirs. Yes, it was only in beta. But, it underscores an issue that can seriously undermine enjoyable game play.

If there aren't restrictions in place already, we need to hammer our how we're going to deal with the issue of loot and the soon, the better.

Just remember if you do go down the dark path your character will change physically. I went from a sun tanned blue eyed jedi knight to having grayish white skin with red eyes. I also started to get the facial marks similar to the mob you fight at the end in Esseles.

You can turn this option off in preferences, so if you want to look pure to lure people in, you can do so. ;)

I found that option out on Sunday night right before the beta ended. I like the look as it was different, I will do the same when I create my jedi knight on the live server.

I know you can get to lvl 2 dark side by the time your lvl 15 and that was just from all the quests I did. Of course this was in beta so not sure how it will pan out in the live servers.

Jekk'Jekk was one very cool place to visit in KOTOR and a very fitting server for us all to be on.. This is greatly exciting to know so many LGBT guilds have been loaded on Jekk'Jekk... This is going to be an awesome experience!

See everyone online soon

Just because we picked a west-coast server doesn't mean we will only be providing events in that time zone. We will endeavour to run events in all time zones so that everybody can participate.

We picked west coast because that is where the other GBLT friendly guilds are starting and we are creating an unofficial "gay" server. My advice would be to just ignore the server location and think of us as a World Wide community because that's what we are :)

I don't think there is a way to see how many east and west coast members we currently have signed up but if the game launches and Stonewall doesn't meet your needs, you can always consider your options then.

This!! West Coast/East Coast... hello at least you're in the same country! I'm sure you will be catered to, so please be grateful that the time zones in US are close enough.

My AoC guild, Rogue Angels, had a guild point system for raiding. So if you had raided for a year, you could use your banked points to get that final armor piece. Was a good way to reward the people who were regular raiders.

I'm in favor of this kind of system as well. Having raided in a few different games, I hate raiding when this wasn't used and some new guy just showed up for a couple raids and got a piece that I had been working for months to get.

There should definitely be an open discussion about how points are earned (ie. showing up on time, downing certain bosses, etc).

light/dark side points and diplomacy

December 13 2011
so i know that you can get dark/light side points from diplomacy which seems awesome. Of course, if you do, you have one less crew skill to choose. Anyone have any idea how valuable it will be to have that? Will questing give me all the dark/light opportunities I could ask for? I read somewhere that diplomacy is more an issue if you will be mainly pvp-ing to level and not doing quests.

According to Enjin's Facebook page the "Bad Gateway" issues with their sites today are from all of the guild signups happening.

"Long story short, we're being overwhelmed with the sheer number of guild signups. ... Probably from a galaxy far, far away. ^^"

How about that. All the SWTOR guildies brought down the biggest guild site provider on the planet! B) or at least caused some major server outages.

EDIT: They had to actually install additional servers today to handle the increased load of a new MMO... wonder what that could be?
