Like Aldente stated, the loot system in SWTOR may make DKP a non-issue, but I personally like it as a system. The primary reason being progression. DKP allows those who show up consistently to have an edge in obtaining the best loot which in turn makes that raid force stronger and able to progress and see/experience more of the content.
I am not raiding currently, but the guild I raided in for the past year in EQ2 uses a DKP system and the leaders do a great job of making it clear that strengthening the raid force to facilitate progression is the priority. It helps minimize loot drama when it's framed that way.
My personal goal with raiding isn't necessaryily to be the biggest and the baddest, but to see as much of the game's content as possible. A well managed DKP system and consistent messaging from leadership about raid force strength prioritization helps make that possible.
But this all might be moot anyway...
Just some raiding thoughts while I sit here at work going totally crazy waiting to get out of here so I can go get
started!!! :S :silly:  :woohoo:
