One idea would be to create another channel named like Stonewallstory... then people can talk freely in there about the storyline with each other and those who wish to avoid it then can stay out of that channel instead of avoiding the guild chat lol.

Oooh, I like this idea! Or just name it Stonewall Spoilers, so no one gets confused and think "ooooh, I like stories."

What's in a name?

December 31 2011
For well over a year, we've been working towards building a multi-guild community from changing our policies and procedures to include more than one guild to opening up new officer positions and discussing how the two guilds interrelate to one another.

I'll be honest and say it's been difficult.

Through out the entire time though, many of us that have debate the inner-workings of our organizational structure have clumsily stumbled over what to call ourselves. We've somewhat defaulted to referring to everything as a collective "Stonewall" as it is the name that's shared among our parts, but that alone does not do well to define us. I tried out "Stonewall Guilds", but that didn't work right. For a time, I was partial to "The Stonewall Network", but that didn't feel right either. Some (*stares at Zepari*) likes "Stonewall Gaming Community", but we aren't the SGC!

Now that things are getting underway with Knights of Stonewall and things are livening up with Stonewall Fleet, I felt it was time to open this up to the entire community and ask for suggestions and what you felt our name should be. I've created a poll at the top of this post including the choices I've mentioned above and I'll add in any more suggestions that come along.

I have a few things I want you to consider when you're coming up with a suggestion:

Availability | Some names, like for instance Stonewall, are incredibly popular and are already used by other organizations or companies. This makes things like having a high search rating or even getting a domain very difficult. Think about how common the name is when picking one out.

Structure | This name will not define Stonewall Fleet or Knights of Stonewall, instead it will define the organization that unites the both of us. Knights of Stonewall isn't a branch of Stonewall Fleet, instead they are both strong self standing organizations that are united by a common bond. Keep that in mind.

Culture | Naming us after the Stonewall Riots has given us a very specific culture. That small influence of our name has tied us to the struggle and triumph, to the history and vibrance of our community and has greatly affected how we've evolved over time. This new name will do so as well.

Feel free to reply with your own suggestions below, discuss the suggestions so far and vote above. Be sure to check back often and see what new options there are. You can revise your vote at anytime. This is a totally open discussion so if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please post those too!

You're not being nosey, I've just spent the last couple days pouring over forums and help sites with no luck. The few 'fixes' seem to only work for a couple people. And most of them require you to over clock various things and typically not helping. At this point im just tired of the issue and missing my star wars.

It's a nvlddmkm issue where the "driver stops responding". Only swept triggers it for me. Its happening all over the board for people regardless of build

Conversely the other day I posted the question "So, I'm a little confused about the Emperor's role in the timeline" (being a level 10 Jedi Knight and he's been mentioned in a few quests so far) and someone immediately shouted in guildchat "NO SPOILERS!!!"

So... how does one go about asking a question without having everyone assume it's a spoiler, when I have no way of knowing if it's a spoiler or not?

Yeah I've seen a few folks freak and type NO SPOILERS in guild chat when anyone asks a question. Here is another example of opinion and what one peson sees as something (fillin the blank) and another person doesnt'.

The best advice I could give is to ask the question out loud to yourself a couple of times and then if it sounds non-spoiling go ahead and post in guild chat or do what I did for my smuggler, come to the boards and post for help. I made it very clear in my post that spoilers are going to happen in this post and folks should not read it if they are going to get upset.

I'm really sorry to hear that! I hope you get to make it back soon. Keep up with the forum so we can see you around here.

And maybe I'm being too nosey, but I know that amongst all the guild/fleet people here, we've had a lot of technical issues. If it's something you could share, someone on here might have some insight or some work-arounds.

May the force be with you.

Re: Gaming keyboard and mouse recommendations?

December 31 2011
I went out & picked up a G510 today. The key-press is a little more dough-like (not sure how to describe it better) than my Razer keyboard (but it's other issue was getting on my nerves).

Once macros are released in SWTOR I'll certainly be taking advantage of at least some of the G-buttons!

I have to say, one thing I *do* like in a keyboard is a physical button for sound! My Razer had soft-buttons, which I simply didn't care for. The G510 has as scroll-wheel for sound, and a button for mute. MUCH better! :)

Alrath/Soulcatcher down for the count D:

December 31 2011
Just thought I'd toss this on here to let people know that I (Alrath and Soulcatcher in the guild) am unable to play due to a technical issue that has continued to go unresolved (there are a lot of others experiencing this issue so hopefully a fix will come soonish?). Until such a time as things are repaired I can't safely log into SWTOR without running the risk of crashing my computer within a couple minutes. While I haven't been around long enough to be 'close' to many people, I do feel like I know some people (through groups and my own annoying babbling in guild chat xD) so I wanted to post something letting everyone know why I've vanished. I guess I go back to WoW while hoping this gets resolved....

But I miss my ship and healy laser D:

I am using the Logitech G510 keyboard and the G9 mouse.

I like the keyboard overall, but a really nice feature is the LCD screen built into the keyboard. I can see the name of who is talking in a room of 10+ people on the keyboards LCD screen. There is no SW:TOR game settings but I like the feature in WOW where I could see my stats on the screen.

Love the Logitech G9 because it just fits my hand nicely.

I have heard good things about the Crucial keyboards though!

Re: [SPOILERS?] Where's baby Palpatine

December 30 2011
Have you seen the timeline? This tells you what happened before SWTOR.

I don't know the Jedi Knight class story. The only emperor i know of is the one that is in charge of the empire, although in reality the dark council governs in his place. The republic is governed by the senate.

In the centuries before the movies, there are only two sith lords at any one time: one master and one apprentice. If i'm not mistaken this is called the rule of two and is the result of sith lords not being able to get along enough to rule the galaxy. That there are two remaining sith is not known by anyone in the republic when palpatine decides the time has come for the sith to rule again.

Oh, those guys? Yeah... that's my fault.

Daddy was doing a lap dance and one of the guys tipped me really well so I turned around and put my jockstrapped butt in his face. His BF didn't really like that and after the guy slipped me a piece of paper with his Adam4Adam username and holocron access code on it, they started fighting. ;)

Love it! That explains why those two where fighting at the entrance! :silly:

Attack the big guy first, he's a healer. You can start on him while he's stunned, use Corso to harpoon him away from the 2 force users because they have AOE attacks that hurt. If you don't have Corso there is a pillar you can line of sight on and he'll come running to you. Interrupt his healing best you can, you can't get every one with your interrupt because of the cooldown but you can get every other one. You can also interrupt with dirty kick and flash grenade. So use your interrupt, kick, interrupt, grenade, interrupt, then he'll get a heal off if he's not dead already. I did this without a companion because they died and it still worked. The big guy doesn't put out much damage on his own, a even a nonhealing spec Scoundrel can heal thru it.

The two force users will never kill each other unless you help one of them. Killing the big guy took me awhile so once that was done they both had a lot of threat built up for each other. All I did was stay at ranged, even tho I was a scrapper at the time, and just use a DOT and Flurry of Bolts. Didn't take too long to kill her and I didn't take aggro.

Hope this helps :)

Excellent advice... I did that as well... To add to that, if your companion survives after killing the big guy, you might want to turn off his taunt and switch him out of guard stance so the Sith stays on the Jedi and you can happily DPS her down slowly while she beats on the Jedi :)

Thanks everyone for the shout-outs!

I really wanna thank Neilston, Doogie, Warwidow and Keithian for being my buddies whether group questing, just hanging out in vent, or gossiping in whispers... You've all made my gaming experience truly pleasurable and fulfilling :)

For those guys I've helped out, the only thing I ask for in return is for you to pay it forward to someone else new, learning, or even totally clueless about playing this awesome game :D

Also, let this be an open invitation to everyone who feels the need to be non-PG-13 and openly talk about whatever stuff they want, sexual or not, to my most private chat channel... Satisfaction guaranteed!

Hugs all,

[SPOILERS?] Where's baby Palpatine

December 30 2011
So on the Jedi Knight story/class quests I've noticed "The Emperor" mentioned several times by various quest givers and NPCs. Most notably there's the unfolding backstory with Kira about the "Children of the Emperor."

However no one in the Senate seems to talk about him, certainly not as if he's leading the Senate.

Plus... if the events of SWTOR take place some 3000 years before Anikan/Luke/Leia storylines, and Palpatine was the first Chancellor to make himself Emperor (or maybe he wasn't...?)...

Just had me a bit confused the other day and thinking I'd missed an important plot point somewhere, given everyone seems to know what's going on with the Emperor except for me.

There is one bar in Corsucant that when you first walk in all the couples are same sex. I thought that was very cool. The bar is huge and as you walk around it changes to be comingled but the first part is a hoot to see all those guys chatting away and a few of the couples looked upset with each other.

Me and my friend spent about 20 min in there making up stories as to why the NPCs look or acted the way they did.

Awesome job! Sometimes this needs to be done, it's never easy but only strengthens our guild and sends a reminder to everyone this is not a place to come and be rude or nasty.

Big bear hugz to Doogie.
