Re: 1.2 is LIVE!

Ok, I've tried to post this 3x now and it keeps obliterating the entire long post and going back to the forum home page....Nick HELP!! I guess I'll have to use notepad and cut and paste to get this posted....

I LOVE THE UI EDITOR! :woohoo: If you had the extra quickslot bars enabled they aren't visible when you first log in after patching. But even though the tips that show as you're logging in still say to access this capability in preferences, it's no longer there. You just click on the "+" that's above the "lock" on your main bar and a command box appears. Then click on extended quickslots and everything you had before will magically appear! You don't even lose any of the abilities that were in each bar. :cheer: You open the ui editor either by pressing "esc" and selecting "open the ui editor" from the choices or again click the "+" symbol and click on "open the editor". Remember to "FREQUENTLY HIT SAVE" while you're working because you can't move to cancel the "you are away from keyboard" notification and you may find yourself being logged out due to inactivity which forces you to start ALL OVER again. I was able to make the changes I wanted on one toon's ui and then after logging into to each alt, I was able to click on that saved profile and instantly change the ui for all my toons. The only thing you can't resize or move is the chat box. But I guess I can't complain too much....

I wasn't able to check out any actual gameplay changes because by the time I finished editing the ui, re-speccing all the toons that had their points refunded because of ability changes, and updating both rosters, they were shutting things down for maintenance. At least they pushed it back by several hours because it was supposed to start at 3am my time and it didn't actually start until 7am. :cheer:

The guild banks are located across from the gtn about midway down the row. The guild registrar is in the center of the room. The access points look like the contraptions you access to put things in your ship's hold. I wasn't able to access anything though and I am hoping this just means there is some setup involved which only you can do, Zepari. I am "praying" it doesn't mean we have to purchase the base tab to even get started. :(

If you can wait until the Stonewall Times goes out, I think there is a good article in there about the changes, Zep. :silly:

Thanks for answering this one, Nick! I figured there was some technical reason it was occuring. I am just learning "workarounds" for things so I don't cause any issues when dealing with people.

Thanks Van, I'm already in touch with OptimusJoe78 and his officers in Taint/Rough Trade about the possibility of a joint pride parade. I know that most of the GLBT guilds are planning their own Pride celebrations, as are we. I really just want to have a soundtrack for our own Pride and be able to offer this feature to other guilds who aren't as big, if they want to attend the parade. I'm sure we will come to an agreement on which one to use for the combined event, and that may well be Taints.

At the moment I am not sure if other guilds will be having their pride on the same weekend as us, and so if this is the case I hope to talk to the other guild leaders soon about maybe opening up invitations for all players to attend every Pride event on the Jekk'Jekk Tarr server.

Whatever happens or however we agree to co-operate, I'm just glad that the GLBT community in SW:TOR is mostly on the same server and we can even consider an event like this. It's still early days, and I'm a little afraid of tempting fate by even mentioning this, as this might not happen. Even if it doesn't we will still be holding our usual Pride events, only this year we are doing it in two games, so twice the fun! lol.

Saw this video on youtube. There's a few videos out there explaining the character "speccing" system in Guild Wars 2 but I thought this one was easy to follow and uncomplicated.

(Invalid video video code)

I think it's going to take me quite a few re-specs to find the right balance :)

I've just discovered another issue that I have no idea what might be causing it. I've had a rare problem where someone has posted a forum name in their member note in SWTOR but when I do a search for that name (on my XP laptop) in the admin view, the name isn't found. I figure for that instance it's because they've posted an incorrect name but 2 or 3 times now, I've gone in to "process" an intro post and the account doesn't show in admin view on my XP laptop (it does show if I go into the Backend), but if I also run a search on my Windows 7 desktop, the account shows up in admin view there. In all the cases, their forum rank was initially showing as "Recruit" in their post (where others were showing Cadet for the preprocessed post). Then, after I make the necessary "changes" to process the post, and run a new search on my XP laptop (after refreshing the page), the account shows up in admin view. Is there some simple explanation for this?

This is probably due to a small bug in how the Admin View handles pagination. Say if you're browsing around looking at different members and you're on like page 3, then you do a search for a username, the view will filter down to that 1 user, but it'll stay on page 3 so you won't see any results. You have to go back to page 1 to see the user.

The new site looks very nice and well done. It shows a lot of effort was put into it's creation, so kudos to all those involved in it's debut and providing us with another game to play within Stonewall!

Stonewall Vanguard: The Next Stonewall Guild

April 12 2012
A few months ago, a select few of us were allowed to participate in a very special event and since then we've been quite obsessed with a new game that will be releasing in a few months. The MMORPG is Guild Wars 2, the sequel to the award-winning Guild Wars MMORPG.

There have been several very dedicated members who are big fans of Guild Wars and others, while haven't experienced Guild Wars, are utterly excited for Guild Wars 2 and have been working hard to start a Stonewall guild in Tyria. I'd like to announce the product of their labors and the next step for our community, Stonewall Vanguard.

The name is a triple entendre; vanguard means the first wave or front regiment of an army. The glbt community fights constantly for our rights around the world, but many of us, specially those who started the fight, knew that the battle would be long and hard. Many of them would not see the equality that they fought for, they were our vanguard, just as we are for the next generation. As well, those that have pushed to start this guild are the vanguard for those that will come and join after. We build this guild, not just for ourselves, but for every glbt person that will find a safe home here and be able to enjoy playing Guild Wars 2 with the same freedom to be themselves as our current members enjoy playing Star Trek Online and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Guild Wars 2 is a very different MMORPG. ArenaNet have completely rethought what this genre should be and are bringing new and old ideas to life in a very compelling way with fun at the forefront of their minds. From their World vs World PvP (Three servers clashing in battles that last two entire weeks!) to their Dynamic Events which will give us common goals and allow us to complete them together in an open world environment (no instancing) and to their amazing guild system which will give us rewards for our dedication to each other.

This game promises to be a great home for Stonewall.

Halish will be helping me lead this venture and getting the guild going. Halish has been a long time member of Stonewall, joining Stonewall Fleet in December of 2009. He designed the logo's for both Stonewall Fleet and Knights of Stonewall. Since then he's served as a Fleet Captain in Stonewall Fleet, and an Officer in Knights of Stonewall. He has been the driving force in getting a Stonewall guild created in Guild Wars 2 including spending the last few weeks building the Stonewall Vanguard website. I have complete faith in his ability to get this underway and am excited about working with him on this project.

If you're interested in joining Stonewall Vanguard and are already a member of Stonewall (Fleet or Knights of) then don't worry, you're already a member. Just start discussing the game in the new section of our forums and get excited for the beta events and launch!

Problem uploading photos

April 11 2012
For some reason, both tried on firefox and IE, I can no longer upload photos to stonewall. I can create an album, but that's it.

on firefox it goes through the process of uploading to 100%, but then ends. Nothing shows up in the album the photo was meant to upload to.

I dont get any kind of error message at all.

In I.E, the uploading process just continuously uploads, but nothing happens.

You can check with the folks who run Taint. They hold yearly pride events in WoW. Each year they post a link to their own music station that runs DJ mixes (not sure if that is the correct verbaige) The music is great and runs the whole day during the pride celebration.

I will hunt around their forums and try to pull the link for this years WoW pride. Hopefully the information will be up but it may be more towards May until we see it.
