Gave me a nice insight on something I never really understood.

dys4ia: a game about transgender transitioning

April 20 2012
dys4ia is an autobiographical game about period in a transgendered person's life life when she started hormone replacement therapy. It's a story about her, and is certainly not meant to represent the experience of every trans person.

It's a pretty interesting game and helped me view what it's like for transgendered people a little better. It doesn't take long to play so click the link below and then reply with your thoughts on the matter.

Re: Guild Banks how we gonna do this?

April 19 2012
I agree with Quuantum and Rybo. Funds should not be used for repairs.

Here is something we had in our WoW guild and it worked great! Remember this was written for wow and I've not changed the verbaige.

= = = =
For the new members of the guild, it appears as though we need some clarification regarding our policies regarding the guild bank. Our policies are really quite simple:

Don't put anything in the guild bank that you might get upset about if someone uses it for a different purpose (i.e. vendors for gold, gives to an alt, gives to a perfect stranger, makes a Lady Gaga outfit out of the various fish and baked goods).

Anything in the bank is free for you to take (within your set daily limit) for whatever purpose you'd like. If you need to skill up Enchanting, DE those greens for mats. If you need the cloth to skill up Tailoring, take all the Linen you'd like. If you are hard up on gold, take that Blue and put it in the AH.

Our logic here is that if we have no rules regarding the guild bank, there's no potential for any kind of drama or for anyone to be upset about anything. My personal opinion is that if you need gold that badly, sure sell the stuff. At the end of the day a guild member is getting the help he or she needs.

An unsaid rule is please use some judgment and wisdom when deciding what to put in the guild bank. Do you really think someone in the guild wants your 40 Rough Stone, Ice Cold Milk or Marks of the Illidari? If you see that stuff vanish fast it's because our Guild Bank Attendant Fairies regularly clean that stuff out and vendor it.

Guild bank withdrawals are limited to members who are not Authenticated. Sorry, but we get about one hacked person a quarter and it's quite annoying for me because all the stolen stuff gets mailed back to me. If you're not going to protect your account, you're not protecting our bank either and I feel like that entitles you to less priviledges.

LOL, this is awesome, thank you. I've not spent any of my dna as I'm waiting to get enough for a couple things.

I'd be ready to give 100 now for either both bank.

My suggestions:
DEPOSITS: No green gear (who needs green upgrades ever?), other than that I'd suggest open season unless there's a problem.

REPAIRS: Suggest not offering it til we have all the bank tabs we need.

WITHDRAWALS: If there's a threshold for how many stacks per day, just set that and nothing more restrictive. I personally just wanna share junk I don't need.

Now who do we give our money to, and how much has already been raised?

Thanks for the info, Lace! That's how I was able to start this chain by being "infected" because I was in close proximity to a group like you describe on the fleet. Then, I went to Tatooine and began the mission chain. Angee/Liz kept posting instructions on where to go to pick up the event missions. There was no explanation in the mission description at all. And only with the wonderful help from level 50 Liz again was I able to collect the last couple of fragments because it entailed going into Empire territory and you had to die a couple of times to get past guards at the entrance. Liz took me into the Empire settlement and showed me how to get to the fragment that was there. I would NEVER have found it on my own. :( Our guildies are the best! :woohoo:

Re: advertistin on fleets

I am not absolutely certain because it would depend on what was actually intended or done in regards to a "spam campaign" but I believe something of this nature would be a violation of the Code of Conduct. It's one thing to advertise for new members on a guild forum which is the usual way of recruiting and another thing entirely to spam a chat or vent channel and "address" individuals in particular. I would view that as "conduct unbecoming a member of Stonewall" which could end in removal from the guild depending on the degree of the offense. I have the same opinion of this type of activity as Rybo, I want no part of it. :(

Hey Nick, I don't know if this is part of the same problem we've been discussing about the website logging us out after a bit of time, but I have been having problems when I try to submit a long post. It also does this whenever I use the PM system. If it has taken me some time to complete the post, when I hit submit, instead of what I've typed posting, the page "blinks" and I am redirected to the forum "home page" (the page that displays after you click "forums" at the top of the page. This occurs after a fairly short time frame, like only about 5 minutes or less. The workaround I've come up with is if I think the post is going to take me some time to complete, I use notepad to type the message and then copy/paste to the forums. I thank god I have administrator privleges because I can't use smilies or quote anyone's post in notepad. Just let me know if it's something I am doing or not doing and should be. Thanks! :)

Replies to this thread automatically come to my email. :)

Yeah, this is basically the same as the logout thing. Once your session expires, you automatically get logged out, if you're typing a message or forum post, when you try to post it the form would have expired and it won't work. I'm going to try to increase the session time again to hopefully prevent this from being an issue.

Re: Fave novels? I'd love some recommendations!

Lots of great authors mentioned in this thread! I'd like to add a few whose books I've lost myself in.

Mercedes Lackey - Her stuff is pretty tame as far as sci-fi/fantasy is concerned. She features quite a few GLBT characters in her work, especially in the Valdemar series. I also enjoyed the Obsidian Trilogy, which she co-wrote with James Mallory.

George R. R. Martin - Goes almost without saying. I'm currently reading A Feast For Crows.

Michael Crichton's Timeline rocked my world.

I've read a lot of R. A. Salvatore's work as well.

My favorite work of all time, however, is Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
