A word of advice is the basic components, burn through those first, they'll get you those first 20 levels fairly quickly if you have enough.

I read somewhere that crafting basic components only give xp when you create them between level 1 and 25 (and level 100-125 for tier 2, ...). So during the beta i saved up my gathered materials for a while before starting to craft. When i reached level 12 i decided to give crafting a try. Together with the materials gathered from my two other toons (level 10 and level 5), i still did not have enough copper to get to level 25. The crafted armour was level 5. Apparently i'll have to start crafting at level 5. To avoid buying basic materials i'll either have to spend a lot more time gathering or level up 5 toons at the same time.

Crafting material stacks cap at 250. so, remember to keep your tools on you if you plan to do alot of crafting. It was also pretty decent experience as well.

It's a good thing you can access your bank tabs at every crafting station. You can even access non-crafting stuff. Unfortunately half crafted items aren't stored in the collections, but in your normal bank tab. I guess that forces crafters to buy extra bank tabs.

I thought the muppets were always on our side.

Srsly...

Bert & Ernie?

Miss Piggie and Kermit?

Other note:

I was always very wary of Chick-fil-A. Not just because their prices were ridiculous, but because I learned back when I worked in the mall that they all close on Sunday because of, y'know, God an stuff. They made a special deal with the mall management to do so because they would have been fined every sunday, otherwise.

I checked out Drozana last Friday, and it was every bit as horrible as our dental friends suggest. I felt dirty afterward, a million times worse than logging on to Second Life. (SL is horribad, for those who don't know.)

This. I think the worst slog in the game for me was the story arc that required you to spend time at Drozana station. It's just gross in there.

I usually cant stand being around Drozana for the headache inducing lights. I really wish they had some way of setting it so once you pass teh Devidian Arc the appearances stop there. You automatically phase to a version without Devidians. Think I went for a SubSpace Radio get together there. But otherwise much prefer DS9 etc.

And yeah. As said before. Best tactic against Goons is just avoid their game. They were mostly looking to hassle RolePlayers and Furries. But as they also love just hassling anyone they can in EVE I thought it wise to just pass the info along so any other big fleets like Stonewall could be forewarned.

You're right, with the Muppets on our side, we automatically win! :P

Re: GW2 Screenshot contest - Did you enter?

July 24 2012
That's an awesome screenshot. I think one of those most impressive things about the way Guild Wars 2 looks is the scale of the cities (well not just the cities!). Things just feel and look really big.

I didn't enter the contest and to be honest I didn't take anywhere near as many screenshot as I should have done but just for fun have a picture of my Asura looking cocky :p

Thanks again for the mission review. Much appreciated :)

It's a great mission. I hope Cryptic gets the Foundry back online soon so that everyone can play it.

Re: Goons looking to grief and steal far more.

This is really crappy and, while they may try to stay within the terms of service, any type of griefing, no matter what it is, is against the games TOS. I forward the link on to Cryptic so they would be aware what the Goons were planning.

We have plenty of safety checks in Stonewall Fleet (bank limits, membership requirements, moderators) to prevent most of this stuff from happening to us so we should be alright.

That being said, I've removed the list of @handles from above. I'd rather this not turn into a list of accusations.

If you see someone griefing another player or you're being greifed, do not engage the player. Making you angry is exactly what they want. Report them to Cryptic and put them on your ignore list.

Re: Crafting

I've always loved crafting in MMOs and GW2 is no exception for me. I got to play with it during one of the beta events and I really enjoyed the system. Like bluegamers pointed out, the discovery system is really neat. I enjoyed trying to figure out new recipes, but I bet it'll only be a matter of time before there's a wiki filled with all of the discoverable recipes.

I'm never a big crafter and I always struggle to commit any real time to it in any game I play. But with GW2 being such a beaut of a game (in my eyes) I may try once more to explore and enjoy this aspect of it.

I have no idea what you're talking about when you say "Discovery". Is it like when you strip back something you already have to find out the recipe?

Is 100 good or is there still a long way to go? :)

100 is pretty much still low out of what i think is 400 overall.

The "Discovery" is basically new recipes you make from your materials as an added customization method.

If you take, the items you make from a say a Tunic, which would be a Lining and Padding (this is from tailor but most of the professions work like this) you go to the discovery page, place the Lining and Padding in along with an "insignia" this will "discover" a new piece of armor, giving a large boost in your skill.

If you add an Insigna for Vitality, Healing or Precise, you can get a piece of gear that boosts said stat.

Or, the pieces of a ring, you can discover recipies from this. the 3 ring sections in jewelry + certain type of gem, you discover a new item from it.

The system itself is alot easier because past the basics they give you, you create your own crafted items list, instead of just going down and buying a preset list.

I tried my hand at crafting though I didn't get very high, I only got around 25 in tailoring and artifice. I liked the discovery aspect of crafting but felt I never had enough materials.

I've always felt that putting someone on ignore should make their character invisible to you. (The character and everything they did, such as fire extinguishing)
