Re: Goons looking to grief and steal far more.

August 09 2012
So, my KDF alt happened to be doing the devidian arc during the 'griefing' and, while I may have missed something, it all seemed extremely goofy and harmless. All the dental people were in one instance, hosing everything down with fire extinguisher fog, and claiming to be fire prevention teams coating all surfaces with flame retardant foam. "Are you on fire right now? No? THEN THE FOAM IS WORKING" They were even doing light RP, upbraiding that station owner NPC for lax safety standards.

Some RP'ers (or possibly random passers-by) were getting into the joke, posing things like "/me thoughtlessly lights a cigarette" at which point all the dentals would start screaming incoherently and mob them with the foggers. It had a pleasant party atmosphere, really, and felt a lot more like a prank than griefing. I intentionally switched to the dental-dominated instance and, to be honest, had the least skeevy devidian run any of my alts have enjoyed (with, it probably bears mentioning, a shirtless Orion).

Now, it's possible there was something nastier going on in tells or before I got there. God knows some of the station regulars were hurling invective at the trolls in zone. But from what I could see, at least, it was more the funny/stupid face of trolling than the cruel one.

Re: Ship Names

I'm constantly, idiotically amused by my new Orion alt's naming convention: onomatopoeic expressions of indifference. The I.K.S.es M'eh, B'lerg, En'h, G'uh, etc etc.

How has GW2 been on slower mechanical drives? Is there a lot of lag in loading textures?

This game starts/loads faster than any game i've played before.

Episode 694 - Enterprise - "Twilight" - 11/05/2003

http://www.allstepisodes.com/megvid.php?n=5308

An anomaly causes Archer to lose his long-term memory. Much of the episode takes place in an alternate future after the destruction of Earth in which Archer (with the help of his caretaker T'Pol and Captain Tucker) seeks a way to correct the past.

Enjoy!

Res' Super Spectacular Events

August 09 2012
I have several events I want to run, and decided to post the gist of a few here and will run which ever gets enough interest. Based on how these go, I have other ideas I may blow some dust off of I have been wanting to run.

1. Star Trek Trivia Event
Divided into sections covering TOS, TAS*, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, and the films (including both Star Trek Motion Pictures).

*-Animated Series

2. Retro Pvp

PvP, while restricted to Vice Admirals and Lt. Generals, each rough of the fleet pvp will be restricted as well to ships of specific tiers; tier 1, 2, 3, and 4. Who hasn't wanted to get into a original Nova and go at a Constitution with their level 50's?

3. Shuttle Pvp

Speaks for itself.

4. Exchange 101
A course to teach the many new features and work arounds for the quirks of the new Exchange system, and general money making tactics. I got a lot of inquiries when I mentioned the prospect of running this class. Open to everyone, and I will reserve a section of the course to allow others to share tips and tricks as well.

5. Exchange 102
More advanced methods of money making; it may be necessary to run a second class with smaller groups to do more specialized discussions, and allow each person to ask one on one questions as needed.

This is all I am willing to run currently. I will need volunteers to help assemble question lists and contributions for trivia prizes, so to keep it vaguely in the same weight class as past Stonewall events. Please, only send donations for prizes once it is actually decided if the trivia event is going to happen, because I will be requesting a fleet officer to handle the prize donations as well.

Here's to the possibility of future Res' Super Spectacular Events!

Re: Fleet Starbase idea - Officer of the Watch

Just a quick point - it seems that the memberbase at large hasn't been made aware. It seems like there's a regular stream of people pointing out, asking for, or complaining about putting up a new Project, in spite of the present bottleneck.

Re: Fleet Starbase idea - Officer of the Watch

August 09 2012
In the main fleet, we were discussing holding off in posting any Projects for the time being. Because all the Tier are currently upgrading, the only projects that we have available are Basic Provisioning projects which take 200k Dilithium and only give 5 provisions. Its really not worth it and we don't need to deplete eveyone's Dilithium supply.

Glargggh, I'll be in class...

Thats how a stress test works, they test the game during the time where a lot of people are working; forget the weekends where most people are home during the evening.

Name: Ferrex Baldwin
Species: Human
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Specialization: Exosociology

Additional Details:
Since receiving a field promotion to captain of the U.S.S. Fechner in the Borg attack on the Vega system, Vice Admiral Baldwin has found his knowledge of alien societies beneficial to work in the Federation Diplomatic Corps. However, research remains one of the primary goals of the Fechner and, in between more pressing missions, the crew has often been involved in expanding the understanding of some of the strange new worlds populating the dark corners of space.
