Well I will definitely not play CO. I'll go to DCUO before I do CO.

However: If it's just because of the graphics engine, surely with a kickstarter campaign enough capital could be raised to create a newer, better graphics engine. Possibly even enough to also buy themselves back from NCSoft.

Is there any way these conferences could be an hour later? I have to work most Saturdays and 5pm EST is an hour before I even get off work. I know you don't want to start it too late so it won't interrupt dinner plans etc. but I'd hate to show up an hour late every time :(
I do understand if that time would be better for everyone overall, though.

Neither CO nor DCUO compared to CoH it made them both look like the red headed steo kids and yeah i understand why they did it doesnt make me like it and yes dcuo has been f2p for awhile now

Now that the mess with the sites is dealt with, it's time to get our story moving again. I've noticed pick-up scenes seem pretty rare, so I'm going to schedule weekly hosted open roleplay events* each weekend until we finish this story arc. These won't be full-fledged events all the time -- they'll be more like the free play we had after our first event. Everyone will hop aboard a single ship and run up and down it roleplaying at will.

If no one objects, I'll anchor these with a conference that happens every Saturday at [strike]5PM[/strike]6PM EST, at which we discuss the state of the ship and our progress toward our goals. You can show up early if there's something you want to discuss with another player before bringing it to the whole crew (although you should let them know you want to do so!), and of course everyone's likely to stick around afterward to chat.

I'm also going to tie the first conference into our arrival in the nearby Klingon system. Essentially, the ship is stopping just outside the system so that the bridge officers can discuss their plans for the approach. Immediately after the conference concludes, those plans will go into motion and we'll have that mini-event we've all been looking forward to.

If no one mentions any trouble with the schedule, I'll post it in-game on Monday. See you in the game!

ok so here's why CoH is shutting down sadly PWE MURDERED IT

The reason CoH is being shut down is that Perfect World games (the owner of STO and CO) is also the owner of the Cryptic engine, which runs CoH. When NC bought the CoH IP they didn't purchase the engine; they licensed it for five years from Cryptic. That's why the Cryptic logo remains on the splash screen.

Now Perfect World wants you to play their games - Champions especially - and they are killing the competition by denying NC a license renewal. This leaves NCSoft with no choice but to pull the plug because they no longer have legal rights to CoH's codebase. Perfect World knows that Champions is the only other superhero MMO on the market. If you're looking for a new home, make an informed decision.

Im a bit upset that the story pretty much ends there. I was hoping that their would be a minnie stand-off between the two factions and the species involved in the world event. Sort of like an operation to cripple the invading fleet/army or something, with the choice you make either decreasing or increasing the enemies abilitiea.

This was my first ever MMO also, I'm very sad to see it go. Although I haven't played it in awhile, I did go back every so often to look at changes, etc. Many good people on there that will be missed. :(

I think Paragon should get a kickstarter thing going to buy themselves from NC Soft.

I was there for the parade and in Quarks.

I was there too albeit briefly because as usual I got lost on DS9 and couldn't find you guys at first....and then as soon as I found you, everyone left to go to the next location....lol. The story of my life, I am SO directionaly challenged :blush:

I figured I would give the emblem contest a shot :D

I also used the pink triangle concept in a different form. (the background, which also makes it look less pink!) I also figured that the design I chose for the background would feel almost army-like and unifying.
I chose the Guardian symbol obviously because of protection, all kinds are safe behind the Stonewall Vanguard. The red in the middle is supposed to signify love, while being less obvious than a heart, it's still the center of our group as we're a family ^^.
