Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
The trailer does look good. At first I could have sworn that voice was Patrick Stewart's which would have been kinda awesome. I am still getting a rather strong Dark Knight Rises vibe from this trailer though but I'm sure it will be good. If only Abrams would apply the kind of plot intricacy that he goes into Fringe we might see something a lot more true to Trek but still entertaining to a general audience.
My favorite Star Trek movies seem to always be the even numbered ones:
2: Epic and the best revenge plot ever.
4: Lighthearted, funny and with an important environmental message.
6: A perfect example art imitating life in that it mirrored the USA's change in its diplomatic stance against a recently collapsed Soviet Union who had been viewed as an enemy for generations i.e. Federation + Klingons = Khitomer Accords.
8: Bitchin new Enterprise, Borg got a revamp, an awesome space battle that brought us some of our favorite ship ship designs and imho a much cooler-looking uniform.
10: Still good plot, Tom Hardy was a good villian and really did look and sound like a young Picard. Who's jaw didn't drop at the capabilities of the Scimitar?
