What makes Stonewall the best community is....

...that you can buy forum signatures for only 250,000 Energy Credits, at the Forum Signature Shop?

This is a bizarre thread ;)

I feel as though the thread creator should be sharing his feelings too :p

Re: [Event] Tribble Soccer!

February 05 2013
The initial problem with this was that the items didn't render for all .. aka not everyone saw the same tribble .. but now with the party popper for the 3 year anniversary event ... I believe that everyone does see the items popped from it .... so rather than tribble soccer ... would we possibly be able to do balloon soccer?

Think the items render for all, but we would need folks to cooperate and only let the event organizers 'generate' the 'balls' ...

First Poem (Ganymede, 13th Century AD/CE)

February 04 2013
Eyes, neck, cheeks, curl of golden hair__
These were the flames of Jove for his Ganymede.
When Jupiter was seeking to allow himself a little [pleasure] with the boy,
The god ordained that all things were licit with a boy.
Heedless of the care of the world or the murmurs of the gods,
Of the tongue of his injured wife and of heaven,
He bore the Ilian lad to the heavens, a star to the stars,
And finally even believed he was a god,
So that the kept boy could please him by touch as well as sight.
By daylight he bore Jove his cup and at night kisses.

_________________________________________________________________________

A few notes, Ganymede was a young shepherd boy that captured Jupiter's fancy. The references to youth in romantic poetic verse (boy) does not indicate a prepubescent child, but a young man. In line 3, [pleasure] is the closest word available for direct translation, nothing else makes sense. Just for the sake of clarity I checked Boswell and notes in Medieval Latin. The Ganymede myth permeates themes of gay love over millenia, the first references appearing in the High Classical period (5th century BC) to contemporaneous times. It is fitting that the first verse be about Ganymede.

I'm all about seeing members of the guild working together for ANY task. We've been switching it up a little, trying to get the best system worked out for guild activities. I've been getting some input and making my observations. pnuttbuttah made the suggestion to keep activities to the weekend and leave the weekdays free-for-all so we modified the schedule to work in events Friday-Sunday. This should help fill up our events and make it easier on those not able to attend due to work/school and of course... I will be available throughout the week to take part in anything as long as I don't have prior obligations. I'm all for turning SWVG into an exclusive guild... I don't like it when I login and TONS of people are on, but they're not representing. I don't think we're going to move in that direction at the moment. We're still fine-tuning.

Thank you for participating last night BigBrother. We all had a blast! :woohoo:

The Breen Voyager Mix

February 04 2013
So about five years ago I had a lot of time on my hands which led me to create a mix of Voyager soundclips with a semi-electrotechno backing version of the Voyager theme.

It has since been renamed The Breen Voyager Mix and is perhaps the cheesiest thing I have ever created. Nonetheless, I thought I would share it with you all because I've never really shared it with anyone else and finally I'm part of a community who might enjoy it... or just think I'm totally mental and have no talent.

You decide! :)

Classical Love Poetry (translated from Greek or Latin)

February 04 2013
I have decided for both the Fleet's benefit and my own translating skills, I will translate one gay (or lesbian) themed love poem from the Middle Ages or before per week. I will make short notes about the translation after reproducing my translation. Some will be short and others will be long. I apologize in advance for any transliteration mistakes, I am the sole owner of such goofs.

Aye, I'll be logging in each night that I am able to do some of these guild events. When I first joined up with SWVG, I think this is what I was looking for. I'll advertise in guild chat as well for those people who either do not know of the events or have simply forgotten. I think we should all work to convert some of the multi-guilded people to Stonewall either explicitly or as their main guild to interact with. I would love to see more members on.
I can't say I'm without fault, though, since I haven't really been active for the last month or so. But, these last few nights I have seen, at least to my knowledge, record numbers of members online while playing. Last night was a blast Elquin, and I hope we have more great nights like it.
