Six-of-Nine: I assume the reason is because the game is only equipped for a fleet to set three fleet costumes--tactical, engineering, science--despite it not squaring with canon.

My submission also included the medical teal variant as established in canon by many medical officers. But it wasn't shown here.

Romulan Fleet Uniform Contest

April 29 2013
I'm sure it'll eventually happen, but I'd like to open a the forum to ideas of what guidelines and restrictions should be in place for our romulan toons to have fleet uniforms.

My own preference would be for there to be three different romulan fleet uniforms to choose from, the main one would only contain parts that can be worn by non aligned romulans or romulans of either allegiance. Then there would be one allowing fed aligned costume parts, and one for kdf aligned.

Essentially it would be a fleet uniform for romulans in the republic, and uniforms for romulans who rp as joining stonewall or nagh red.

I for one am already working on my ideas for submissions.

My ENORMOUS thanks to all the contributors to this edition!

I hope you enjoy this new edition of the Times, but sadly it will be the last one I produce as Editor-in-Chief and layout artist. With a heavy heart, I’ve chosen to stand down.

I haven’t taken this decision lightly, as I’ve truly loved working with our incredible contributors to put the Times together. But real life – unfortunately – comes first, and my job in education is demanding increasing amounts of my time due to major educational reforms here in the UK. This last year has been the busiest of my life, and it’s set to continue for a while yet. So, sadly, I must say goodbye to the Times.

I’m incredibly proud of the editions I’ve put together as Editor this last year, and on a personal level I want to say an enormous thank you to everybody who has contributed articles. I think the Times is something very special for the Stonewall Gaming Network to have, and to show to the world. I hope it will continue, perhaps in its current format or perhaps as something more interactive like a blog or a podcast.

This community is filled with incredible, talented, enthusiastic people, and I know you’ll create something amazing. If you’re reading this and would like to get involved, please get in touch with the fleet and guild leadership.

See you all around the galaxy.

Jumping is definitely my thing. We'll have to talk about a weekly day/time to do guild treks. Hopefully after 6pm >.> In the mean time, I will go check out all the places you listed and start to become familiar with them as well as those not listed.

I'm worried that he won't get a new contract because he's an ageing player who's seen his minutes dwindle, and people will accuse the NBA of not giving him a contract because he's come out, rather than because his skills are fading.

Amazing, amazing news! One less pink ceiling for us to break through. Hopefully he'll get some great endorsements (from what I read Nike guaranteed to endorse any player that came out) and gets a great contract soon. Can't wait to see this happen in the NFL and NHL.

Great designs, everyone! I have several favorites!

Out of curiosity, is there going to be a run-off among the most popular designs if there isn't a clear favorite?

Also, Nicholas, one of the submissions isn't here and I swore I sent it back to you with description--was it disqualified somehow? PM me.

The catwalk announcer needs to check his notes on A (gloves?) and E (white details?) and I (everything - actually, are E and I descriptions and pictures reversed?).

For the gloves on A, I had a costuming error as I was testing costumes that I discovered later, so I had to retest costumes and rewrite descriptions, and I thought I caught all the descriptions but I guess not. I'm thinking that the E and I descriptions are reversed but I don't think that happened at my end. Also, I absolutely know that my uniform (J) had gloves, which I described and which I considered an important detail, but they didn't show up here. I discovered there's actually a costuming bug (surprise, surprise) wherein if you save a costume with gloves, the gloves don't actually load--it defaults to whatever your present glove settings are, which is how A got messed up.

Re: We're Creating the Borg Hive

Google Glass reminds me of an episode from The Outer Limits. Basically, all humans were plugged into the Stream by neural implants. They could access information in any book at any time. The Stream becomes obsessed with gathering information. Of course things go wrong and the plot has a hero and the Stream has to be stopped.

I just wonder how much reality is going to reflect the stories of sci-fiction from the last 30 years. It better be a brave new world.

Vegetarian yes, vegan not so much though. I'm good at making pastas, couscous, polenta, miso soup and what not. Most of those require some animal protein but I honestly don't see the dietary point in having actual meat every morning. (swine excluded) I do love bacon with a fiery passion! ;)

Totally true Darkoas.
One big change that we'll need to make in the coming decades is a vast decrease in the amount of meat we eat. Compared to historical trends or even our metabolic needs, we're swimming in meat today. Going back to mainly agrarian diet will help a great many things; decrease the production of fossil fuels, curb obesity, and less soil erosion.

I can totally relate. My Dad throws a hissy fit if there isn't meat in the dinner I cook. I tell him he needs to build a time machine and go back to the early 60's if he's so enamored of the "meat and potato's diet."

Sounds yummy to me! I've been looking for some good vegetarian recipes if you have any!
